Thanks for all of the advice! I've posted a few inspiration photos. Regarding, the current tudor style, while this style certainly does have charm, it just isn't our favorite. We'd prefer something a little more modern and clean looking. For now, the tile roof will need to stay but down the road we plan to replace it, mostly likely with shingles. I should also mention we live in the Pacific Northwest and tile roofs and stucco siding are not real common here. I don't think the materials perform as well as other in this climate. As for the windows, we've decided casement windows would be best, at least for the large front windows. I appreciate that suggestion! I think we are leaning toward no grids in the back of the house so that the view is clear. As for the front, we are still torn. We may have to get some renderings worked up to help us decide. Any thoughts on black vs white windows? We were thinking about staying with the black to contrast with the white but I've also seen some white houses with white windows that also look great. There's just so many great options! Again, thanks for all advice. I will definitely post after photos when the project is complete!

Pictures of houses on decorating websites are taken with window coverings either pulled up or away, but IRL, if you drive down your street you'll see people have them partially or completely up or down depending on the time of day, which direction the windows face, etc. Since BHG isn't coming by to photograph my house anytime soon I don't worry too much about how it looks from the street. The only thing I think is important is to have white lining in everything that faces the street at least, and it's a rule of my HOA as well. It's OK to have fuschia curtains if that fits the room, but you don't want that color visible from outside. What you choose should be at least in part based on the style of your house inside, which room it is and which direction the windows face. You will find someone on this forum to advocate for every single type of window covering there is. Not everyone likes the same thing. To get over the decision paralysis, it might help to just take one room at a time. Can you post a picture of the room you want to do first?

@milworkman I have 2 companies coming out to quote me for the ground floor 24x83 window replacement. One is for Okna and the other is for Sunrise Window.  I am trying to find a dealer for vytex and Soft-lite. Specifically to replace 2 picture gliders that size where the left and right glide open and the center is just flat window, what would be a reasonable cost for those brands? Right now I have a $2800 quote for 2 gliders from slocumb installed or the $4850 for 4 awning windows that would be 2 windows.inneaxh 24x83 opening. Those are the Simonton windows but no idea series since it custom made. I really like the reviews I seen on the Okna 500 series but just trying to guage what would be fair to avg pricing for what I'm looking to get.  Any opinion or advice is appreciated. Right
