Thanks for the update and the pictures! Itâs good to know that your trees healed well. I was curious how they did because Iâve got a ton of rabbit and vole damage to deal with. Iâve got about 200 apple and pear trees in a fenced-in 60â x 60â nursery. The trees are 1 to 4 years old, ranging in size from less than a foot to 7 feet tall, with each one wrapped with a 24â plastic vole guard. Even though the nursery is surrounded by an 8-foot polypropylene mesh deer fence fortified with a 28-inch welded wire rabbit fence, it was no match for the 2 to 5 feet of snow thatâs been on the ground for most of the winter. With the snow higher than the rabbit fence, they easily chewed through the polypropylene mesh, and, in a single night, nipped almost everything down to snow-level (about 30â). The bigger trees are missing big patches of bark, maybe 2/3 to 3/4 of the way around the trunk. Oh - and under the snow, on the smaller trees, voles skeletonized everything above - and sticking out of - the plastic guards like piranhas. I saved what I could by wrapping what was still standing above the guards in aluminum foil, made some patches in the fence with poultry netting, and dug a trench in the snow all the way around the nursery. In the process of mending the fence (which took a few days), rabbits got in only once. They ignored all the aluminum-covered trees, and gnawed on raspberry canes instead. Once mended, the rabbits havenât got back in. As for the vole guards, they can only save the wood that theyâre guarding. I wonât know the full extent of the damage until the snow melts. It stands at a little under 2 feet deep right now. Itâs just devastating to see such damage. Heartbreak aside, my concerns/questions are: Will there be new growth (from the scion/variety Iâm trying to grow) if there are no visible buds? Is there anything I should do to keep disease (scab, canker, fireblight) from entering the wounds? Good luck!

Barbara, The view from the street level or driveway would be more important to me too. So anything I did would be to disguise it from that angle. I'd try to determine what is the maximum height something could be so as not block the reception but yet hide it and let that determine placement. Because it's on a slope the distance from the dish would have an effect on the height as well. I'd just play around with it to try to decide where to put something. Then I would do whatever I had to in order to put something of that height in front of it. I would move or redo beds in order to make the entire thing flow with the junipers. The wall was just an idea of something tall to go in front of it to hide it; it could be anything. The main thing I was trying to contribute is a way to determine how high something could be and not block reception. If the ground is very rocky a wall is probably not easily added as you'd have to add a concrete footing underneath it in order to add it, which means a lot of digging. Mainly, I would look at the area as a whole, using the height nd placement of the beast-hider as a central point and design the beds accordingly. I hope this helps a little, anyway. That thing would drive me crazy, so I feel for you. On the other hand, when everything is in bloom, maybe you'll forget about it being there because you'll be looking at all the other things you enjoy looking at? When confronted with problems like this I wait a long time to do anything, but I'm a slow mover.

Mary, Did she tell you explicitly that the warranty would be good? Because I can't get her to write me back and answer my questions about the auction (like whether she is an authorized dealer of some sort). I looked at Rohl's web site and the warranty states it is non-transferable and I think has to be sold from an authorized dealer (so maybe if she gave you some original receipt to use if needed). And maybe to pay almost 50% of retail, it doesn't matter if the warranty isn't valid. My other concern, based on reading the Rohl warranty, was that it might be a fixture made for another country where the plumbing standards are different in some way. I have no idea if this is legit, but Rohl's warranty would have you think that you shouldn't use things from one country in another country in some cases. Of course, they may have a vested interest in scaring me off from that so I don't go to Canada to buy the same faucet cheaper or something like that. I don't know. Either way, I've sent 2 questions to the seller over the past few days and have gotten no response which makes me a little nervous. You had good communication with her though? It's SUCH a good price.

Dawn, I am a righty. I don't think it would matter with a rectanglesink, you could place them whereever you wanted. We had to place the faucet, control and side spray to the right since there was more room between the sink and the backsplash also tried to minimise that the sink was not centered exactly on the center of the window. So get a piece of plywood - trace your sink profile and cut holes for the faucet etc in it for placement and put it where your sink will be-and set the pieces in it to see if you like it- thats what we did. I love having one control lever instead of two knobs. Also I like not having to twist a faucet handle- now I have arthritis in both thumbs and this is way easier. Something we didn't count on just a year ago! Thanks for the compliment on the kitchen, I am very proud of DH, he did it all with the exception of installing the granite. we bought the cabs.
