sure, I'd assume you could put a row of cabinets along the half wall much like your current cart -- the only constraints are leaving the radiator clear at the one end, and enough walking space at the end of the peninsula on the other. if you keep them, say, 15" deep (perfect for pantry), you might be able to go all the way into the dining area! I'd do white so that they disappear...

There is probably room, but it’s hard to say without a floor plan with dimensions.

As far as installing them yourself, how is your DIY experienc? I wouldn’t consider cabinet install a beginner project.

Room dimensions would help. Check the depth of what you are considering and make sure any appliances would clear the end of the peninsula if appliances ever need to be removed, replaced. It appears there is in the photos, which can sometimes be deceiving.....;0)

It looks like a classic MCM home. I don’t think I’d do anything without a designer involved. There is probably some modular storage on casters for that wall you could have someone source for you to get some storage . But the kitchen probably needs an overhaul and you’d want to get back to the bones of the space w regards floating shelves / that period lighting fixtures and hardware and correct finishes... lots of things . The current kitchen is far from the best of what can be . You should wait and dont install cabs in this current set up yourself.

I would try to find some sort of storage system for that wall that can be used now as kitchen storage, and then later on when you can update the whole kitchen, you can move the piece to a bedroom, entry, or for use as a console. I wouldn't go to the expense of building something in. Look for a long console, enclosed modular storage, or even a buffet.

This is far from a classic mcm home! the light is the only thing that looks like it's from the 50's-60's. Those cabs are builder grade oak from the 80's

check ikea. you could prob do some lowers.

as for the other part, save up so you can do a new countertop w/an overhang for that peninsula.

also, trim out the front of the peninsula w/some panel trim work, and paint.

try something like this, and do the side as well, and paint

and paint the cabs while youre at it.

get yourself some inexpensive hardware for the cabinets.

don't know what you can spare for a budget, but if you paint them yourself, can do some basic carpentry and look into a pre-fab countertop, you wouldn't need more than 2-3K.

Ikea is another option if you just want to remove everything and start over.

RTA cabinets are another option. for about 3K, and some install work, you could have all new cabs. countertops, another 2K.

and if you want a tall pantry, remove that window and install one next to the fridge.
