Post Nashville floods need to redo kitchen on strict budget
Comments (16)So sorry to hear about your family. I live in the Nashville area and was lucky enough to not have any damage. There is a Sears Outlet (aka "scratch and dent") on Thompson Lane near Nolensville Road. We purchased a freezer for the garage there, but sometimes they have things that have no damage, or the damage is a dent on a place where you can't see it. I would definitely look there. We used to have a Kenmore french door refrigerator that I loved (we sold it with our house when we sold) and am very happy with my Kenmore Elite DW. I hope you are able to get your family back in their home very soon!...See Morehelp! small budget for small kitchen remodel! pics
Comments (4)First you need to determine if it's a bearing wall. Either way, cost will be a factor. If not load bearing, you'd be looking at new cabinets, countertops, and perhaps matching the flooring some. You could make it a half wall adding some storage along there; but I see you have a heat thing (sorry... Floridan here so not sure what you call it) coming out of the floor along that wall. That may need to be revented then. BUt if you could, with storage along that wall you can do an over-hang to give it a more open look....See MoreHELP !!! tiny quirky kitchen, small budget
Comments (6)I gave a price to one of my customers out of my store for a 27.5' kitchen in the ultra modern flat door style using a reall maple wood vener on the door and drawer slabs with solid wood face frame in particle board box and shelf construction using 36" wall cabinests including crown light rail roll out trays and slide out trash can for get ready......$2,993.32 including tax and delivery to the customres house. The all plywood box with dove tail drawers and soft close full extension rails was $3,789.68 using www.smartcabinetry.com It is a made in the USA cabinet by an Amish company that has their business together! shop around. You do not have to buy more expensive cabinets from companies with brand name recognition when you are on a budget. I just priced a 29.5 ft kitchen for another customer with raised panel panited maple cabinets with glaze in plywood box solid wood drawers with soft close rails a up down in and out cabinet design thru out with turned posts spice drawers and all kinds of stuff for $7,043.01 with tax. I specialize in affordable alternatives in all cabinet styles from stock to custom. There are many stores like mine that can offer you true alterenatives. Look for one in your area and you will be surprised how many truly affordable alternitives you really have. Is it really worth paying twice the price to increase 2 or 3 cabinets by 2" in width with a shade tree cabinet maker that will do it for the same price as Dynasty? When you state your budget is limited in your view? I think it is a waste of money to get a name or the ability to say you have custom cabinets to all your friends when they come over. Be smarter than a superficial person of the world. Do not get me wrong I have several custom companies too that I use and love. When I read these posts I see a stigma on this message board that only custom cabinets look good. It is just not true. I offer 135 different cabinets in 30" 36" or 42" wall cabinet height with crown and light rail- 10 granite colors we call level 1,- original kitchen removal- new kitchen installation- and painting for $7,000 - $10,500 for any 20' of kitchen. 10 x 10 would be 20 ft. If I can do it many other smart stores can do it also. You can afford dreams with some real looking around....See MoreVintage kitchen needs updating. Small budget.
Comments (67)Ah..(sorry I'm too talkative..)..check your local Craigslist maybe too? People get rid of stuff..and sometimes of new stuff as well-when remodeling for example. The prices are generally pretty good, so you never know. Tons of fridges on our Craigslist..true, I never payed attention to their finish that much.. I know though we bought a new bisque fridge, a smaller one, and pretty modest, for my MIL rental. My DH bought it-have no idea where. Can ask him. But it doesn't look impressive or charming like your stove. It's very basic. Well the whole kitchen is super basic. It's a tiny one bedroom. The location is great though, very central, walking distance to everything, nice parks around-so 1600 per month lol. And you have to do the laundry in the laundromat....See Morekootenaycapable
