Kate, this is how I did it. I taped the backing to the floor and then laid the batting on top and smoothed it out. Then I folded half of the batting over on itself and applied glue to the backing. I just ran a thin drizzle out of the container, going back and forth across the quilt about 3-4 inches apart. Then I folded the batting back over the glue and smoothed it out carefully. I repeated with the second half of the batting. Then I laid the quilt top over the batting, smoothed it out, folded it back and applied the glue to the batting in the same fashion, repeating with the second half. I left the glue to dry for a few hours or overnight. I have heard of some quilters who thin the glue a bit with water and apply it with a little paint roller - the ones that are about 3 inches wide. Just be sure you buy the washable School Glue, not the All Purpose one. The glue washes right out of the quilt. It held together really well while I was quilting. No more pins for this girl.

Hi, Elmer. You and I have bashed heads in the past. Now, don't get me wrong; I"m not the only person with whom you've bashed heads nor are you the only person I've bashed heads with. However - you seem to have mellowed a bit in the last few months. I don't know if I have, but I've noticed you being kinder and not so hoity-toity (well, IMO, it was hoity-toity). Although I used to think that you are a turd and there is no way I'd want to know you, I've admiringly seen a softening and effort. I apologize for previously having an automatic negative reaction to your posts and am happily reading your posts for what you say now. I don't agree with everything you say, and I don't expect you to agree with everything I say. But - as I said, I've noticed a change and willingness to participate rather than dictate, converse rather than to insult, and to be a part of a group. I'm sorry for tuning you out before based upon my knee-jerk reaction. And I apologize for some of the things I said to you. Heck, we're not going to be best friends. Elmer and C-cat are making me envious. I visited Windsor as a newly minted teenager. St. George's Chapel was a stunner. It's not what one would expect of a 'chapel' as a small, private place for the royal family to worship. "Private" in early days probably only included the royals, accompanied by hundreds of retainers in their court. I was amazed at the Order of the Garter pageantry -- all the members' family banners suspended from the ceiling. Photos I see today are different from what I remember. I remember the banners hung from the entire ceiling, their ends creating a sort of 'drop ceiling' halfway down from the top. Many were extremely faded and nearly threadbare. (Real fire hazard, but I think the chapel was unharmed by the blaze in the nineties.)

elmer, you are such a skeptic. I have read Plant Paradox and I have also read a lot of Dr. Gundy's blog articles, and I do not recall reading the word "holobiotics." Did it ever occur to you, elmer, that folks who criticize Dr. Gundry may harbor a bit of jealousy that he is doing so well? (Rhetorical question. I know your answer is "no.") I received my cardiac stent on March 14. By March 30 I had received some of Dr. Gundry's supplements and began taking them. At the time I received the stent, my total cholesterol level was 155. "Normal" is less than 200. If you're familiar with the Framingham Heart Study, you'll know that in the first 50 years of the study, only five people with a cholesterol level below 150 developed coronary artery disease. It's often said that if you can keep your cholesterol level at or below 150 you'll never have a heart attack. So, mine was 155, which shouldn't have been a lot to worry about. My LDL (bad cholesterol) was 101 ("normal" is less than 130). About 8 or so years ago, my cholesterol was higher (183 with LDL at 120), and I was put on Lipitor. The lowest cholesterol level I had while on Lipitor was 143, with LDL at 83. I'd been off Lipitor entirely for about 5 years. I was put on it again after the stent (because I have three other cardiac arteries with blockages -- 50%, 70%, and 90%). Studies have shown that taking a statin will not only lower cholesterol, but it will help remove plaque from the arteries. So, on Thursday of last week, I had blood drawn for new lab tests, including a Lipid Panel. My cholesterol level is now 92 with an LDL of 33. Yes, I know the Lipitor factors into the lower levels, but not that much. Remember, previously I was on Lipitor for a much longer period of time and my lowest total cholesterol and LDL levels were 143 andd 83. The reason for the much lower levels this time? Obviously, it's Dr. Gundry's supplements.
