What color chaise lounge chair for master bedroom?

Hello, we just painted our bedroom, which used to be light blue, Kilim Beige with Hopsack as the accent wall. We have bamboo flooring. What color chaise lounge chair should I get? Would tan or gray work and then maybe get a throw with different colors and add different colored pillows to change it up every now and then? Our bedroom furniture is dark cherry wood.

The chaise should coordinate with your other fabrics, not just the wall color and floor.

What color do you like - I am assuming there are no other colors that need to be complemented - e.g. no window coverings or bed coverings.

I recently remodeled and have neutral wood floors and walls deliberately but my window coverings and arm chair are teal blue and my upholstered bed and chaise is mauve :-).

We put an upholstered leather (and chrome) bench in our recently "renovated" master bedroom (pics to post someday!). I got it so we'd have a spot to sit while putting on our socks, shoes.... DH would always sit on our just-made bed (made-up by me, of course!) while tying his shoes, right on the nicely fluffed up bed pillows, and then walk away leaving them all smushed! Also, the spot where we have it just seemed to call for a bench! :) We don't use it for sitting and hanging out, except perhaps if one of us just sits down for a few minutes to chat while the other one is getting ready to go out or whatever. Surprisingly, neither of our cats has claimed it as her own!!! They both pretty much ignore it for some reason.

One thing I've learned from the pros and other talented decorators on this forum over the 15 years I've been visiting is that scale matters a lot. When you have a room the size of your master bedroom, you need some substantial furniture (and art, etc.) to make the design work. This was a very important lesson for me to learn, as my house before I was married was a very small bungalow. Everything I brought from my previous home looked silly and dwarfed in the home my husband and I moved into. My art looked like postage stamps tacked to the walls. I didn't know how to decorate in large spaces because I had never done so before, and I always preferred modest, simple furniture and art so it look me years to embrace the larger spaces. But once I did, things started looking a lot better. I've found places to use some of the sentimental items I couldn't part with (in bathrooms, kids' bedrooms, small guest room, as part of gallery walls), but some things just don't work in the larger spaces. Your bed, though very pretty, is probably one of those things. We have a California King in our large-ish master bedroom and it looks great and fits the scale of the room. Find some large art you love too. I'm sure the pros will have better advice, but just wanted to chime in as I went through that same frustrating phase you are in now. Good luck!

That Karastan rug creates a giant hole in the center of your room and I would relocate it to a better location. Gold lamps will pick up the gold in your framed tapestry and drapes will add texture to your room. Put the valet in the walk in closet.

I'm confused. are you planning on selling soon or living here for a while? if you're leaving soon and think this is a teardown, why even bother having anything done to it? (just need a little clarification is all.) if having a smaller bedroom means you get a necessary extra bathroom, I say go for it! I've lived in three homes with my husband, and every single one of them had tiny bedrooms. they're really cozy, and they seem to stay a little warmer at night after we turn the heat down. then we can use the larger spaces for offices, workrooms, etc. as for small closets: I always used the office closet for my clothes. this system has worked well for us for many years.

We like all color but the theme is going to be ethnic African /safari colors ... reds, orange, yellows and splashed of aqua/turquoise maybe. Not sure about the window coverings yet either but African safari is all I can think of as far as colors lol.

What color is the bedding? IMO this space is screaming for some color other than beige .

I think a cream or beige chaise would be perfect ... and you can add accent colors as you said. Love your inspiration pictures, hope you’ll show us some “afters” when you get the room done. :)

The bedding we haven’t gotten yet but I like the themes of the pictures above. I am open to any color that wouldn’t clash. We like blues, reds, turquoise, rust color, burnt orange, forest green

When I was looking for my bedroom chaise, I called the store for color samples. They sent about 7 that I requested, and this was very helpful. Keep in mind that my bedding was chosen.
