Window Treatment Dilemma

This is my living room. I need privacy without losing light. Was thinking of a cellular blind for the large picture window in the middle, would it look funny to have drapes on the side? There isn’t enough room for brackets on an inside mount on the 2 side windows. My other thought was to go with layering sheers and drapes. Any thoughts? Any other creative ideas?

All three windows should have blinds or shades on them. Shades are available with narrow headrails for shallow depth windows or you can mount them outside.

Windows like that look better with panels on the outsides only, but they need to be wide enough (or hang more than one at each end) to at least look like they can close. The rod needs to extend out much further, not just to the end of the window. They also need to touch or almost touch the floor. High water curtains don't look too nice.

Look for something called silhouette they still let light in but give you privacy.

I think fabric roman shades that add some color would be an improvement to the windows. Hate to see all that trim covered. IMO, your bigger issue is the stair railing. I would paint/stain it black and match the spindles to your other white trim. If you have a bigger budget, change it to a pony wall pre-wired for TV. Here's the basic concept.

It looks like you also have windows on the wall that is perpendicular? Those would need panels also. Can you show a photo of that window? You might also consider a different furniture arrangement. The table behind the sofa is serving no purpose. Maybe there just for Christmas? You can add drapes that are decorative only. I presume that is what you want, since you already have shades? I think it would really soften the space and look elegant if you added a panel between each window and on the ends. I've added 2 here to give you the idea. At the corner, I would make the panels contiguous from one wall to the next.

I think curtains all around would be overwhelming. I have solar shades on my slider. I put a wooden valance over them give a neater appearance. The roller doesn't show. Something like these pictures. My shades are are white and so is the cornice

Shadylady2u thank you for your input. Will look for head rails for shallow depth. I agree with having panels on the outside. Was thinking if I did have panels that could close, they would cover almost all of the side window. Yuck on the floods! Wish the heating elements weren’t directly under.

If they're non electric, it's okay to cover part of it, but if electric, no, they need to be at least 10" away. In that case, I'd just do shades or blinds and forego the curtains.

Shadylady2u can you point me in the direction of brands of blinds that are designed for windows with shallow depth? TIA

Fenstermann Blinds that posts on here is one. If you go thru a dealer or designer, they would know where to order from. I'm sure there's an online retailer or two but I think the best thing would be to email them (like Blinds.com, etc.). I don't know off the bat which carry these.
