what exterior paint colors would make pink brick seem less pink? Help!
Comments (7)As noted earlier, the green just draws more attention. I would: 1) Remove the shutters from the double windows. 2) Paint all the trim and garage doors a nice medium taupe. Don't paint the garage doors a different color as it draws more attention to them. 3) Paint the shutters, maybe a darker tone of the trim. 4) Paint the front door. A black door with taupe trim/shutters would be very striking. If you're interested in seeing some virtual makeovers of your home, check out my website, Creative Visual Concepts. Comments (1)I never like off white trim but Yarmouth Blue is a suggestion from BM You chose a yellow based paint for trim if you don’t want yellow the choose another color. Make sure before that that you change all your light bulbs to LED 4000K Look at an actual colr those you mention all have a yellow undertone. Look at some soft greens for instance in the more sage tone....See MorePeach Orange Brick House - Help needed to pick paint colours
Comments (10)Thanks everyone! Your ideas are so helpful! @Lyn Nielson Thanks for the tip about the perennial garden bed! I'm glad to know it will take 3 years. I can be impatient with these things sometimes. Do you have any suggestions for what to plant? We are zone 5. @houssaon Brilliant! It would be nice to keep the white trim just because it's less work than changing it. A colour pop on the door would be a dream come true for me. How would you do it without making it look like we live in a fun house? @tangerinedoor I have a new appreciation for our window now! You're right. No one else has anything unique like that in our neighbourhood. @uoflcardfan77 Such a great idea to replace the shutters and I didn't realize the door would continue the theme but it totally does! Comments (1)What is missing from you house is foundation plantings. Get a plan together an plant in the fall after the heat wave is over. Plant far enough away from the foundation to allow the plants to mature. Paint the secondary door the same dark brown. There is so little trim showing, I would leave it brown along the roofline. I would leave the brick wall directly in front of the empty. It will give it more emphasis, But plant some low growing bushes along the walkway. Next year, in early spring add annuals for long lasting color. Can you paint the window frames and the frame around the door? If yes, the I would paint that trim a creamy off white, a really pale tan. Or if the windows are an tan color you can match that and paint the brown trim I think I see around the windows. They will show better. The two small windows could use shutters - one half the size of the window. Paint them a gray blue or black. Paint the front door the same blue....See MoreMarylee H
