I decided to leave them out. Just spend a few hours in a still hot sun to position them from the winds. It's just still too mild to wanna move them. At worst in the extended I see temps in the 60's and low in the 50's. And they get unobstructed southern sun all day long. When I move them, they go into a sunny, big garage, but it's hard to keep up with the watering..., bad enough in the winter. I was considering fertilizing for the last time of the season (they haven't been fertilized in over a month), but figured the excessive rains would just leach the fertilizer out. I spent time tilling the soil and introducing more gypsum. I don't use a gritty mix but they get so darn dry in more peat/perlite based soils. Spent time hosing them down well. Been a dry Fall so far so all the rain in appreciated. I do notice that plants seem to respond better to RAIN than water out of a hose. Didn't use to believe this but in my experience tropical plants grow better with regular rain that can't be made up from irrigation. Is it too late to consider fertilizing? (I don not fertilize at all in the winter as they are kept quite cold.)

This may come too late in the day, so to speak, to help you with your decision. Nonetheless, I thought it appropriate to share what I have learned over the past few days about Wolf products being sold on eBay. Unless the seller is an authorized Wolf dealer, let the buyer beware. A 'new in the box' unit may simply be a defective unit that has be repackaged in the box from the replacement unit. According to the Wolf representatives I have spoken with over the past several days, defective units are to be scrapped and destroyed, not recycled on eBay. Wolf zealously guards its product and will gladly spend time researching any Wolf product for a prospective purchaser. All one needs to find everything there is to know about a Wolf product is the serial number. If the serial number is missing, the warranty is void ... and the product is likely a scrapped unit that has escaped destruction. Also, as a caution for those considering saving a few bucks by picking up a Series L oven from an eBay seller, find out whether the interior cavity is chipped or otherwise damaged. It is not economically feasible to replace the oven cavity even if it were otherwise possible to do so. The bottom line is get the serial number and follow up with a call to Wolf to get the history on the unit. Doing so will take most of the guess work out of the risk vs benefit analysis. Keitel went from a 2007 Wolf to a Bluestar- maybe he'll see this. Bluestars are not perfect, there are always issues being reported, but most of them are small (unless it's your range). Getting good service has also been an issue with Bluestar, but that also seems to be getting better. (I had great service, because I had a great regional distributor- now the service is arranged directly from Bluestar). I think Bluestar has made positive strides with fit and finish and service. They've never had a major problem with design, it was always little things like knobs, ignitors and ignitor modules- things that they did not make themselves. Most Bluestars (I'd like to believe) are not bought for their 'looks' but for the way they cook.

It is very disheartening. There is a class action lawsuit that claims wolf has not honored their warranty in this issue. It only covers appliances bought after 2011. Mine was before that so am looking into another one. There must be enough people with problems that it makes it worthwhile for the lawyers. I have not seen anyone have bad service with Wolf while under the two year warranty. Most of the wall ovens fail in that time frame. Not sure what happens after that if it fails again. The ranges seem to fail later and are then out of the two year warranty. It then seems to vary whether you get the above and beyond or not. With a good set of clad cookware (multiple layers to conduct heat evenly) or cast iron both will be just as good. The only place you will see the benefit of the open burners in a meaningful way is with wok cooking where you want heat concentrated at the round base of the pan." ____ You have to look at why people want "open" burners. Some mean that they want the higher BTUs. Some want the more upright flame of an uncapped burner-especially with the 25K BTUs. Some like the way the open burner tray cleans. I do agree that cookware can contribute to even cooking but cast iron (and steel) are poor conductors of heat and prone to hot spots. Heavy gauge copper and aluminum are the best and multiplied falls somewhere in between depending on the thickness of the conductive layer. The cast iron would benefit from the star shaped burner of the BS as long as the pan is sized to the burner.
