Lyds, Thank you. The tv is recessed in a niche we put in during construction. DH picked out tv width and we went from there. We'll never do one larger, but there is a little room on each end and even more top/bottom. I went from trying to find an antique folding screen to having a four panel folding screen made using wallpaper but never found the perfect pattern. I ordered a screen from Gump's and the colors were horrible when it arrived. TWO years I tried to come up with a solution and FINALLY I wake up in the middle of the night and it came to me! TxGal, Thanks! I had a thread on Decorating but I can't locate for whatever reason. It was custom. They made the shutter into a door to hide the tv equipment and DVDs also. It's on sliders. I have no idea who they ordered them from. The sliders are attached to 2"x2" strips of wood. They built the sliding panels sort of box-like in that the side/top/bottom are to the wall. In other words, when you're coming in the front door you see the side of the panel and it looks like a wide picture molding. slc2053, we don't have a problem with glare since the house faces south and we have a deep veranda. This was taken a few years ago at the very beginning of the Christmas season, hence the garland on top of the entertainment center. We now have new sofas and chairs but the center remains the same. Jodi-

A long console under your TV....may have to lower the TV a bit. I would put some drapes or curtains up also. Not sure I would put anything on the wall by the TV but after getting the entertainment console, see how it looks first. A bookcase on the wall facing the windows....not on the TV wall would be good. I know you only asked about the TV wall but other things I would like to suggest....a table and lamp at the end of your couch (Chair end) and a floor lamp on the other end of your couch. Also a small table between your chairs...something like a garden stool for guest to put their coffee cups.

Here is what I recommend: In either case -larger rug -colors are not working together. There are too many woods (front door, dining set, coffee table, floor, wine bar competing with each other. Colors: blue, grey But, maybe you are just getting started. -move wine bar to another area where it can be highlighted as a wine bar. (never angle a squared off piece of furniture in a corner. Never looks good.) -simple drapes for dining a living windows. -lower tv -decor should be simple, especially around the tv. Option 1 1) Move tv to the dining room wall (if space allows). Likely, there would be no console in this scenario. 2) Move sectional to tv wall 3) Move wine bar to another room (dining room?) Option 2 1) Leave sectional where it is, but move it slightly closer to the window wall. 2) Place a chair on right side of tv 3) Console needs to be 1 1/3- 1 1/2 longer than tv. Your current console is too short. Think about whether you want to buy a console that ties you into a certain color. Rather, buy pillows and accessories to decorate. In a couple of years, easy to change out the color. 4) Move coats to dining wall. Thanks!
