Wall oven across from peninsula...how much space?
Comments (2)Our oven is also directly across from the end of the peninsula. We have 48" of space from the face of the oven cab to the face of the peninsula. Our oven door sticks out just over 20" when open, leaving almost 28" of space. This is more than enough. But I did try to mock up 20" and that seemed a little tight. Sometimes just a few inches can make a big difference. Hope that helps....See MoreWall across from kitchen - tv or fireplace? (pls share pics))
Comments (16)I prefer to see TV. Usually if I'm in the kitchen, I'm cooking, and I enjoy hearing/seeing the TV while I cook or clean up. Our kitchen and great room form one long corridor separated by a 14' arched doorway. If you put your arms out to your side, and pointed one hand at the cooktop, the other hand would be pointed directly at the fireplace 60 feet away. And I don't want a tv in the kitchen... ...but I like to watch TV while I'm cooking, not watch an unused fireplace (largely...). BUT - I am not a fan of wall-mount TVs. Our solution will be (we move in this week) to place the TV on a corner stand between the fireplace and wall. The fireplace wall will house some artwork I love... so I'll always have something enjoyable to look at. And the TV will be clearly visible without having to be mounted over the mantel....See MoreAcross the front of our Block.
Comments (12)Tricia it is this one the Calliandra nemiphylla you will remember it well and yes it is good to start from scratch only problem is we are always moveing States so I have started from scratch with three new houses in less than 20 years. I have had enough. Half of Wales you say not quite. Thanks Jan, tidy you say well the grass is a bit on the high side now after this rain so its the first job soon. GH my gardens were like that too when my four were growing up, we had dogs too. Marion I dont spend as much time in the garden as I used too no rain no grass to cut, no weeds to pull. Would you believe that bougainvilea is " Californian Gold " Thanks Bev hubby has helped a lot with the heavy things "He is not a gardener " but he does not mind pruning. Thanks Dee I am glad you think it has a Welcoming Look about it. And Jan you think the same thanks, no we are not going to have water under the bridge ( Because of Cane Toads ) there are river pebbles under it and the sign reads "Dry Creek Bridge" would you believe. Comments (29)#3. All brick with siding under porch. Get rid of faux stone accents on corners at foundation. Do not pay extra for those. They are awful. If you have to have stone, only do it along the base of the foundation. Paint the garage doors as close to the color of the brick that you select to remove emphasis of huge garage doors. There is no hiding them, but you don't want them to be the focal point. Why #3? It has the most simple elevation and avoids most of the McMansion from Hell elements. That's why. If it were me, I'd do all brick. Then, I'd paint the brick and garage door the same color....See MoreDarci Hether New York
