Need help w/ Laundry/Mudroom Design . Thanks in Advance.
Comments (2)I think those are great ideas as that's what I was also thinking with what I'd change and do with the plans if we were building that plan. I'm not a fan of the only powder room entrance being in the mudroom, l prefer a more formal power room with the access to it in the common areas. So I like your idea of placing it in the butler's pantry area. Now if a plan is large enough to have two powder rooms such a private one also off the mudroom area I like that too. So the family can come in, wash up..... as they come in the door. Love the locker idea and am adding them in our new build as well. I really like what you have come up with. Good luck :)...See MoreNeed help with small laundry room design
Comments (4)I'm no designer but can speak for the washer dryer set up. If you moved the sink left just a few inches, the extra room would make it easier to move around when doing laundry. Also, If you make sure it is at least a 27 Inch wide opening for your stacked laundry to fit into, now or for future purchases, you will have more choices but you will always find some 24 Inch models. That being said, most front load washers open right to left, however, european models such as Electrolux, Miele and others can open left to right. Also, some type of access to the back of the units for installation is always a great idea. I've seen many a designer overlook this. Maybe even provide the specs for the washer and dryer to the designer,/builder so no mistakes are made. In fact, do that for all the appliances...See MoreLaundry Room Storage/Design HELP

Comments (7)You dont have to get fancy. A hand drawn floorplan would help. If you don't use the dining and changing it to laundry and office would function for you better, I don't see a problem. I would prefer making a space more useful for you instead of living with laundry in my kitchen. I know it's common in some countries but I don't like it. It would work if the laundry space would have access from a hall. It would make 2 almost not useful rooms if it's split differently. Please give us some idea. A really bad drawing is better than nothing...See Moreshirlpp
