Thanks red_lover & sherwhy! I was a tough covert. I'd looked at it with the primer for so long it was just hard to imagine dark! But I'm suprisingly really fond of how it looks! I think once we have landscaping and grass, it will really come together. The plan was for shutters as well, but I don't think that's going to be in the budget, so we will add those next year. I'm sure both you and Susan are doing much more extensive remodeling jobs than we did. I didn't get new cabinets. Really couldn't afford that and besides, my dad built those for me 32 years ago. Now, they DO need refinishing, and come spring, I'm going to decide just WHAT to do about that!! But I want to live with the rest of the NEW stuff for awhile. I did go to Beaver Tile and the lady there helped me a LOT!!! They are a tile showroom and do not sell to the public, so I have a tile store nearby I am using. But the young girl in that store just doesn't seem interested in my small project. She has made a few suggestions regarding the field tile (which I had already decided on); but as for the *sparkley* inset, she ONLY sees dark brown. Well, to get to the point, yesterday Kathy, suggested pulling the green out of the granite. So, I am getting samples of the colors: Thatch and Morrell. She thought the Thatch (caramel) color would blend OK (she's not sure about the glazing around the tile however; but the Morrell, would blend good and be a little more contrast. I am *trying* to put a pix of the Morrell in here. Read descriptions under pix!! Have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! OK .... Picasa seems to have CHANGED where to find the html code so, hoping this works (oh, why can't I be tech savvy!!!) The rugs you posted look great but reds are notoriously hard to match. With a predominantly red rug, if the red of the chairs and the red of the rug are off, it will be much more noticeable. If you have a red skirt and a red blouse and you try to wear them together, it will be obvious if they don't match. If you wear a cream blouse with a small red print and a red skirt, it's not as noticeable if the reds don't quite match. Does that make sense? It looks to me like the cream version of the rug I posted has red and a bit of green in it should tie all your furniture together. I think the blue might work as well. The rug doesn't need to match everything in the room.

search for minimalism interior design. Its new trend. To me, the sofa color is too dark compare to the wall. And try to match same color. Black and Brown are not go well usually but if you go with just one color, it would be better. Your floor and TV stand are brown but fire place and sofa, TV, carpet are black, and wall is white.
