I’ve actually enjoyed all your threads Kath. I love putting projects together for my own home and miss being able to do so. I guess you could say I’ve been living vicariously watching your progress. It could be a glich. Maybe there was an issue and they lost some data. I’ve seen that happen before, just repost the thread

Lol. I'll repost the pictures. I apologize to anyone who's tired of seeing them. I get bored so I take a lot of dumb pictures, of my house, my food, my gardens. I posted a before and after picture. The before actually looks more finished but I still like the less brown look.

It looks nice! Maybe try it with the shutters only on the two smaller windows. I think the larger one looks better without.

Thanks everyone. I do like the shutterless big window. I guess because the smaller windows look so bare and have no bushes under them anymore, makes them look odd to me.

I have one with the shutters taken down. The brick is discolored where they used to be. Are yours? I'd like shutters back on mine. Your brick is prettier than what I have to work with. ☺ I also think the holes in the brick need to be filled if I don't put shutters back on mine. Kath...your house is looking really nice! Refreshed!

I liked you house before; I like you house after, but from a spoil spot viewpoint, I have to look hard to see improvement. You did remove some shrubby as should have been done if those shrubs were rubbing against the house. From a security viewpoint, those wider shrubs did make hiding places under the widows. Removal of those were indicated but not improve appearance. I'd removed those for labor savings if those required periodic trimming. In the after photo, I see a downspout not seen in the before shot. Its in a logical location and may have been added by the workmen to improve a drainage situation.

After the scrap is hauled away and the grass mowed, its going to appear nice.

In the before photo, I liked having the same color roof and garage door.

I like the changes and I like it without the shutters. It looks good! I also like to see people's changes and projects. that's probably so I can 'live' thru them and not do any myself - lol! I'm lucky to get the weeds cut back.

Nicole, yes, there is red paint on the brick below where they were. I started to clean the brick but got side-tracked this summer. I do have to go back out and finish. I don't know what happened to the other post.

Jemdandy, the downspout was there but brown and I guess it blended in more with the brick. I removed the bushes so the windows would be better accessed because I was going to have them replaced this Summer.

Arcy, I don't like he color so I won't be painting the door. I only painted it white to see if I liked having a white door so that when I replace it, I'll know. It's not even painted evenly I wasn't going to keep it so I wasn't careful. I don't know if I want a white door now, though.

I also like it without the shutters. I would paint the downspout and the garage door as close to the color of the house as possible. I would leave the column by the door white to make the entrance stand out. I would remove the bush by the front door also. I like the new roof color very much. It really, really looks nice, I'll bet you're tickled!

Have you considered a creamy color instead of white for the doors and trim?

If you really want to get a fight going, post the photos and ask "shutters or no" on the Building A Home forum. LOL. Those folks lose it over the shutters issue.

Personally I like them on your home's smaller windows but would leave them off the big one. Nice landscaping will finish your home beautifully.

I agree with having shutters on the two smaller windows to help balance the look.

Ditto bpath, patrice, and ci_lantro. (Unless you're going to the big expense of changing the headers and getting *wider* windows there.)

I wonder if Houzz isn't having a lot of computer issues. Posts disappearing, inability of some to logon, getting "down for service" messages sound much more like the issues are on that end not the users.
