You might get more help if you're able to post photos of your kitchen and particularly the area where you plan to add the extension. Would butcher block be an option?

This seems like a common granite. I would start another thread and see if we can at least ID what it is. This could possibly help find a match. Ha e you taken pictures to granite yards? I would leave it up to the installer, as it can be time consuming.

You are saying you can’t replace it all. I think again with research, you might find a very affordable granite, possibly two remnants. For example Black Galaxy, or Black Absolute. People are still using these.

My other idea would be to do this:

Get rid of the extended piece. Put a waxed walnut or butcher block on that portion. It can become its own area.

Then when you can, you will replace everything down the road.

I run into a similar problem in the sink replacement business. Sometimes customers need a match for a rear rail. I always assign them to come up with it, that way they are investing their time so they can be as fussy as they please.

I've had customers sacrifice an island to get color match, then replace the island with a contrasting color. That's what I'd suggest here. Make contrast your friend.
