Comments (2)Maximizing resale value here is putting away the plans and moving. You are planning a very expensive remodel here that you will NEVER recoup the costs from. Which is OK if you plan to live there long term or are willing to pay for the increased livability as an expense and not an "investment". But, be very very sure you completely internalize that statement before moving forward with your plans....See Moretiny 2nd floor hall bath layout dilemma - appreciate additional h
Comments (2)Well, if you plan to do anything at all with the door, you might as well think about changing it to swing INWARD. I have a pet peeve with bathroom doors that swing out into the hall way. Or other rooms. With this one change, it might make a difference with the door staying closed most of the time. And, you could find a little mechanism for the door hinge which would close the door. I have some of those hinges on my kitchen cabinet doors, which are not as heavy or big as regular door hinges, but that is what they do. And I love them. It is also possible to get good quality bifold doors, and I've purchased several of the Pinecroft doors from Home Depot. Online, since they are not in my local store. They also sell the Feather River Doors in bifold configurations, with different kinds of tops and bottoms. Your bathroom is really pretty, love that window and the sink too. Don't think you'd gain much advantage by moving the door and sacrificing your linen closet. You'd be opening up a whole can of worms....See More2nd set of Prelims-addition to log cabin
Comments (27)I need to shave off some sq footage. Here are my thoughts: Smaller Mbath/closet and shaving 1' down the left side MB and Child's room. Can anyone help me with tightening up the side entry to include mud room, pantry and possibly create a booth or window seat area with dining table. We are limited on adding to the right any further (driveway). The existing structure is a log home. I'm trying to do from top to bottom: living room, kitchen an dining or just kitchen, dining then the vaulted living room (existing home). Thank you for any suggestions and assistance. Comments (5)Your best bet is engineered roof trusses. I think you will find the cost much cheaper for stock and installation. Most lumber yards can assist you in proper sizing and any other considerations. The only caveat is the loss of some attic space. I can tell you for fact 3 guys,4 hours, framing and sheathing done. Make sure you are thorough in your objective(drawing) when you go to the lumber yard....See MoreCelery. Visualization, Rendering images
