I’ve never been to Europe, so I’m not familiar with their designs. I can say though, that after sharing a bathroom with the 4 people in my house for the past 3.5 years, I am thoroughly looking toward to a room for the toilet alone! Lol My thoughts are that the WC would still be independent and have a doorway of its own. I just don’t know how to work the shower portion. Finding a 7’ vanity that has separate drawers for both sides is proving challenging to me. I think that’s what’s driving me towards the separate vanities.

Nobody can help from those pictures. Nobody can help without a floor plan drawn accompanied by all dimensions. More importantly, it seems you are ripping/ hacking up a house with no plan, no architect, no nothing . Not a great idea. Get an architect on board for the best result. ..........along with a certified KD/BD.

Mark's plan is definitely a good one, but moving the bed can't happen. We realize it's a little tight with a queen bed, but we are okay with that and can make it work. She might not be a shoe maven but she would tell you this is the most important room in the house because it is also where she will do yoga. The 8'x8' clear space at the foot of the bed is the yoga space. Hence, where I've provided a sliding door that opens up to the forest and the large floor-to-ceiling east facing window with a mountain view. It's her retreat, and we can't mess with it. We weren't planning on having free standing dressers in the bedroom but I'm really loving the idea of built-ins under the stairs. This is such a great idea and why I love bringing questions to this site! I would want to keep the access to the storage space under the stair landing but the rest of that wall and the short wall next to the door would be available to use. Maybe some shelving on the short wall next to the door and two sets of drawers on the long wall?
