Can you solve the door issue for Room C by making it an outswing? When open it would then be against the wall with what I assume is some kind of air return / chase. In your bathroom you might also gain some privacy for the toilet by pushing the shower up towards the closet and then putting the toilet on the shower side. Then you can put the linen closet or cabinet across from the toilet (that could also hold toilet paper for when you realize you're out ;) Would be shallower but the back of a 40" deep linen closet would probably be fairly inaccessible anyway. Would perhaps be less private when using the vanity because of the mirror, but do you generally use the toilet when someone else is in the room anyway?

We are remodeling our house and building an addition. We are wanting to expand and redo our master bathroom and bedroom in addition to a few other things. Right now I have a load bearing wall going through the area we have to work with, an I do not want to completely move it. They're are 8 ft ceilings in this area. The entrance to the bedroom area is on the load bearing wall and we could do one more door way either leading to the bathroom or closet area etc. I am attaching a pic. The two large rectangles are the spaces we can use for the master areas. Anyone have any ideas for how we could make this a master bedroom and bath without crossing that middle wall (labeled 17ft) too many times? You see the bedroom entrance to the left of the pantry. We COULD enter this area from the right of the pantry (making a short little hallway where it jogs back. The large opening below the pantry opens to the kitchen dining and great room. To the right even further we have a mudroom/powder room. Let me know if this doesn't make sense! It's quite a big area!

1.Have the bathroom entrance from closet? or keep them separate? Separate entrances are generally better, but the entrances right next to each other as indicated is the second best option. Saves walking through the wet bathroom unnecessarily, and waiting or disturbing the person using the bathroom to get to the closet. 2.General Bathroom layout - any better layouts? with current layout our vanity can't be more than 4ft, will it be small for this bathroom? If you're still planning, dimensions aren't fixed as with some renos. You can often shuffle things around if you need. The bathroom is decently sized, but not massive. Don't cram a 7ft shower into it, and waste valuable space. The layout below shows a 3'3"x4'7" shower, and leaves space for a 6' vanity Do let us know how this fits into the entire plan. A few reasons for moving the laundry room; first, the majority of the laundry is coming from/lives upstairs so we prefer to not have to haul the laundry up and down stairs to wash then put away (our previous home had laundry on the floor with the bedrooms and we loved it). Second, the current laundry space is pretty sub-optimal taking over the only entrance to the house from the garage and more than anything we need that space for a mudroom/storage. We only need two bedrooms upstair max which is why we're comfortable losing one to become some laundry/bathroom configuration.
