A wood look tile that looks like WOOD. Wood isn't gray........................................it is generally shades of brown. Right? We don't know if you are considering a porcelain tile, LVP, OR LVT. DO WE?

IMO wood look tile is already a dated look so if that was what you were thinking IMO not a good idea. Wall color IMO is the last thing you choose since paint can come in any color but flooring not so much. We need pictures for sure and alot more info as to what other flooring is around the space , .

a good wood floor will hold up to family traffic just fine. ( it's still in 100 year old homes)

If you have to, pay the extra for upgrade to a very good quality engineered wood flooring.

picking a wood look tile is tricky as it can look fake if it isn't good quality. Your flooring will be the one thing that will need to last decades, so pick something that won't go out of style in 10-20 years.

well can't the kids just dry their feet before coming in? (they can be taught to do this) I mean, hardwoods have been around for most of the last century w/pools outside. Unless they come inside soaking wet where puddles of water will collect, it's not going to damage the wood.

maybe right at the doorway do an inset of tile (or put down a fluffy rug) to catch wet feet.

you could do a slate tile, or a pebble tile, or anything to catch the majority of the wet feet. they even have porcelain brick looking tile

pools are seasonal (unless you're in Fla) and kids eventually grow up. I wouldn't pick my flooring based solely on the fact that I have a pool!

Sherwin Williams Wordly Gray...it's a very neutral color and looks very different based on the light. Looks more gray where there is not much natural light and almost cream/beige in bright areas

Anything real wood colored wood is great. The fakey gray or white stuff, not so much. Plain white oak or maple with no stain, just a clear coat, is a classic.
