Good score!! Usually the caps are square. Black? Hmmm, I think I would paint everything else as I wanted it and then see about the columns. I have seen houses with black window trim and front doors, but I have a hard time imagining your house with black trim, seems too contempory for your house. Just my opinion of course! I like the idea of moss green with your brick and stone - more natural. Diane

Your bathroom looks great so far! We used WM in our kitchen, and in looking for paint colors for our glass BS, we found that greenish grays or blue-green greys looked best with the WM. (Charcoal also looks good, but probably would not work well with your floors.) Take a look at Dusty Dream (DE6312) by Dunn Edwards. The sample we tried looked great with the WM. We went one shade lighter (Haze Blue) for our BS because we have walnut cabinets and wanted a lighter shade on the walls, but Dusty Dream would look great for cabinets, IMHO. A couple of the darker shades on that swatch card could also work well. One card over, Grey Flannel (DE6319) was also a color that looked really good with WM. jterrilynn is a genius! :) I just now noticed she completed my railing on the octagon - lol!! Love it! You ALL have such a great eye - you have helped us leaps and bounds. My husband and I like the black posts. He and I are divided however on the lower level fascia under the deck. I am liking the house color as a tie-in to the rest of the structure with the brown fascia a close second. He likes it black. Hmmmm.... we have a few days to think about it before the painter returns. If anyone has more to weigh in on, feel free :)

@Ninigret and pink_peony, the changes we've made are ones we have wanted to do for years but every time we had the money saved to do it, something more urgent came up that had to be tackled. Then, the contractor we had lined up to do it moved out of state. It has taken us months to find someone who could get to us because we are in a hot market/economy here which hopefully equates to us selling quickly and for top dollar ;) The step railing goes in tomorrow morning (snafu with it today) and professional photos after that. Hoping to be listed by Friday :)
