NEED help styling my living/dining rooms and kitchen!
Comments (3)I would suggest looking for a beautiful rug that you love--it should have at least some of the colors you have already used in your rooms. Use the rug as in "inspiration" and tie-together piece. From your description, I think using your ocean blue in the kitchen area would be nice. What color are the existing walls? You would have to figure out if there is a good stopping point to switch paint colors. Good luck, and we DO want to see pictures....See MoreUpdated: "Help me decorate my living room - Desperate help needed!"
Comments (1)I see a few things that aren’t horrible, by any means, but could be changed. Mirror and sideboard, for instance, as mirror is too large for the sideboard and it overwhelms the room, reflecting the t v. Try the art over the sideboard and add a floor lamp where the plant is, as it will do double duty for the sofa and the art. Have you ever thought about adding a floor to ceiling strip of trim to separate the dining area from the living area and painting that wall a color? Something like this with a couple of white shelves on that wall?...See Moresaved the best for last! HELP me style & layout my living room
Comments (2)The staged room is lovely and I think you should follow along. A 3-seat sofa and two armchairs work in almost any setting. Of course, the sofa should be 18" or less from the coffee table, so if you want to center the table with the firebox opening, the sofa will have to scoot closer. I think the TV built-in is well located, but you could change the color. I'd have a pro paint it once you've determined the colorway. In both arrangements the art is a bit too wide for the FP. Prefer to see it no wider than the firebox opening and hung 5" above the mantel without rising above the window frames. What's your plan for drapes? I think they will make the space if carefully chosen and hung. Is that hardwood or carpet? Difficult to tell from the pix. On the entry side of the room you could add a console table, lamp and art. I think you need more task and accent lighting. The ambient lighting coming from the ceiling seems fine, but lacks the intimacy that table, floor and art lamps add....See MoreHelp!!! Comments (4)Also wondering if I can get away with putting a rug under the coffee table? Still need an end table for the other end of the sectional. Really having a hard time finding something that looks like it would go in the room....See MoreLiya
