I have 3 Silgranite sinks. The first in my basement kitchenette. It doesn’t get much use. The second when we replaced cast iron sink in main kitchen. I’m guessing 6-7 years ago. It has held up very well, takes tons of abuse. The third in the kitchen in our cabin, about 3 years ago. They are all still in good shape, no problems at all.

All 3 are some variation of grey or black, so no light colored sinks.

@jupidupi, I plan on getting a darker one. The one they had on display actually felt very heavy and nice and not like plastic at all. I'm thinking I'll get the Cinder color if I stay with the Blanco Silgranit choice.

I had a black silgranit sink and I loved it. It didn’t absorb smells, cleaned easily, and didn’t make a loud sound when my children would drop dishes in it. I did notice that over time the black looked a bit faded, but I discovered that cleaning it with dawn and then polishing it with mineral oil would always bring it back to life. It was hard to notice when I got a hairline crack in one section thus why black was a good choice for me.

We recently remodeled and went with a single basin ss sink by Ruvati, but I would still consider silgranit in the future again. My mother in law liked the silgranit so much, my husband installed our old one in her kitchen. I think the darker the color, the better it will last.

I'm taking a hammer to this cracked, leaking, and fading Blanco Silegranit composite next week and installing stainless steel for a customer.

This one is 15 years old and yes some fading but shines up nicely with food grade mineral oil. No cracks, one tiny little nick in bottom from a knife.

We have a 10-year-old Silgranit sink in anthracite that looks exactly as it did the day it was installed. We do use sink grids, but other than that, I don't baby it at all.

@joseph Corlett LLC... do you replace more stainless or composite? Which are you seeing with the most issues?

I've got another Blanco as soon as the replacement arrives. Same as above, cracked and leaking. I replace more composites and cast iron with stainless steel than vice versa.
