I also purchased a 22" white pumpkin door wreath. $11.99 @ Jo-Ann's. Instead of white bird feathers, they used ribbon with printed veining, looks like feathers. Very clever. ☺

We bought Apple stock years ago, way before the 7-1 split. I am happily watching the price increase! This wasn’t for retirement, just for fun. Some could easily retire on our one purchase. I am hoping it drops some after the next split, I will purchase more!

At this point I think I could easily afford one share of Apple stock. Maybe two. lol

I was happy with the bargains I got on back-to-(home)school clothes for my 9-year-old grandson. I ordered from Target and Old Navy. Old Navy had some nice discounts, plus I found a coupon code for an extra 20% off. I included in the order five face masks for the boys and five for me. They're well made and nice looking, and with the discounts they cost me only $2 apiece. I could have made them myself, but I'm not a speedy sewer and I'm a little tired of mask making for now.

But my best current bargain is the watercolor painting course I'm taking online. The most fun I've ever had for $9.71! It deserves a thread of its own, and I'll get to that soon.

I took a free pickleball training class last week. Two hours of instruction and I am hooked. I was supposed to start late last year but it never happened because of lack of indoor courts. Then Covid came along, so everything was suspended. The training leader finally obtained permission to conduct two small outdoor classes of 4 each.

It was fun and I felt totally safe as we were separated due to the court itself. The court is almost as large as a tennis court. By the time we had been there an hour, all 12 courts were full.

I bought the jacket at Goodwill for my daughter, for 4.99. It is by Estelle Gracer, who made one of a kind fiber arts pieces in the '70's and '80's. They sold for from 600 to 1000 dollars back then. It has an 1982 tag in it. It is crochet.

I am giving it to my daughter. She is small enough to wear it, and I think it would look good with jeans. She lives in Houston, in Montrose area, and likes all the artsy fartsy stuff. She loved the jacket....or maybe you would call it a sweater.

I also bought a bunch of Wolfgang Puck knives at another thrift shop. They were $2 for the chef's knives and 79 cents for the steak knives.

I bought a cool, old horseshoe picture frame that is metal, marked Humershshatz, which was made in Germany. 2.99 at the same thrift.

OT: Stocks Are Soaring, But So Is Misery -- headline on a column by Paul Krugman (New York Times) in the Sunday Chicago Tribune's Perspective section.

It's short. You might want to see the disconnect between a roaring stock market -- particularly a few giant tech stocks -- and our very sick economy. Krugman highlights Apple, Amazon, Netflix. (You may want to consider hedging those gains with a sell order.)

Last paragraph: "Oh, and stocks are up. Why, exactly, should we care?"

Eh, I don't like Paul Krugman. He has a higher milk carton to stand on than he deserves, in my opinion. I rarely agree with him but of course others do.

Free Bear-fire-pit off CL. It has a cloth cover! I had to wipe the cobwebs off it...but it's in useable shape. YAY!
