Thank you for posting your experience. All we hear is gloom and doom but little about the countless people who have had it without lasting effects. I am happy for you and your family that your cases were not severe.

I'm glad it was not more serious for you and hope that others all in your group came in contact with have the same mild cases. But you will never know.

And wildchild, I would guess its WAY too early to know about lasting negative effects. Some could affect people far into the future. Too much is unknown to be glib about lasting effects.

I'm glad to hear that you' and your family recovered without severe illness. It's scary stuff!

How do you suggest discussing needless deaths and suffering, much of which could have been avoided?

jewels, I'm very glad your tale isn't one with a sad ending. I can't help but think, however, that your ordeal and that of your family members who got sick would have been avoided if your contact with "others" had been limited to what was essential. Family gatherings and visits aren't essential and have had deadly consequences all over the country.

Tjjeen, we really don’t know where the infection began. Since my daughter tested positive first, everyone jumped to the conclusion that she got it at her hospital. She swears it didn’t come from her hospital and how careful she was and everyone around her. She took care of very few Covid patients and not any around that time. I don’t think we will ever know for sure:

What an experience, Jewels --- you must have been so scared, regardless of how mild your loved ones symptoms were. Best wishes for continued health for you and your family. As a survivor, are your health care providers telling you to keep up the same anti-virus measures as before, as in washing hands, keeping social distances, wearing face masks? (Just curious -- if it were me, I'd err way on the side of caution and keep up all those practices, until the scientists have this thing figured out up down and sideways!)

Nickel, we are still taking precautions. No one knows how long these antibodies are going to last. Our city is still under a mask mandate so wherever I go I wear a mask. I'm back to work at a school and we wear masks and hand sanitize often.

Different people have different long-term/side effects are.

Alyssa Milano posted a video of losing hair when she brushes it. Others with more serious Covid (hospitalized etc) have memory problems, inability to walk and taking physio therapy; Eric Eremita to be specific.

So glad, you got over it lightly... and you are all fine. Thanks for sharing, and continued good health.

Not surprising that your DH lost any antibodies in just a few months. We don't know what that means going forward...about contracting COVID more than once.

Not necessarily, Arcy! That’s the hell of it, there’s just no telling how bad of a case one person will have. Many, many times I’ve seen relatives of extremely sick people, old and young, say their loved one was hale and hearty before Covid hit him/her.

From what I've read, the majority who end up hospitalized do have underlying health issues, but there are also many who are healthy and/or young(er) and end up in big trouble anyway.

So glad your cases were fairly mild and you recovered okay. Thanks for telling us about it.
