Kick My Butt
Comments (27)I am way behind this year as well. Only two containers sown so far. We got puppies late last summer, and they've been tearing up the backyard and ruined my fall veggies in my raised bed garden, so that's been frustrating. I'm trying to figure out ways to keep my containers out of their reach, as well as how to safeguard my little seedlings once they emerge and have the be transplanted into the ground....See MoreFinally got all the dirt in place.
Comments (2)I'm the same way.. if I don't get enough sleep I'm useless. There's also the fact that I'm not as young as I'd like to be... and I'm not used to doing any physical work anymore. I've been sitting on my butt for too long! The main bed is 38' X 5' and it's now 8" deep with new dirt. We decided against putting any kind of border up though and that might work against us as the dirt might just get washed out of there. It is sloped towards the middle and back of the bed from the front... you'll see what I mean when I take photos tomorrow. DH told me that he'll plant the last two roses in the other bed and I should plant the lily bulbs tomorrow instead of fighting with rocks. I love my hubby! :-) On a side note today is our 10 year anniversary and he made me steak on the grill for dinner. He spoils me quite a bit... more than he should! LOL. I sure hope everyone is remembering the fact that we're all human and can only handle so much work.. don't push yourself beyond your limits.. and for heaven's sake Kay get some sleep!! ttfn Cheryl....See MoreI finally got my diving pool...and my son tested it out PICS
Comments (10)The fence situation is the kink of the whole property, and is causing me the biggest grief right now. What you can't tell from the photo is that the pool is actually raised higher than the yard behind it, and there is approximately 10 feet behind/between the pool fence and the split rail fence that runs the perimeter of the yard. The lattice is largely there for privacy, as none of the pools in our area have fences for code. Neighborhood rules dictate that you can have a privacy fence around your pool, provided it's far enough back from the property line. (Where the split rail fence is) I want to do just what you're saying, but it would be ALOT of money right now. They'd basically have to come in and build a new retaining wall behind the pool, add fill dirt to bring the surface level with the existing pool deck to expanding the area (to allow for flowers and the like), and then we could fence around that. However, we would then be very close to the setback requirements. Arrgghhhhh....... Since we're so far over budget on the interior renovation, this project may have to wait until next year. :(...See MoreDo these photos make my house's butt look big and estate-like?
Comments (29)I like pictures 1 and 4. Yes, the lake (pond, whatever) isn't huge. But if someone doesn't like that I think better to find out sooner rather than later. Actually I don't think the landscaping looks too bare on picture 1. I do note that I would have to build a fence but that is OK since I can build my own. Picture 4 is interesting. I think it actually makes your house look great and is very inviting. At the same time, it would cause me to cross your house off my list. Why? I absolutely 100% do not want and will not buy a house where I have to go up and down that many steps in the back. In fact, when were looking for houses earlier in the year I rejected several houses with very similar backs. Some people might say that is a reason not to use that picture as it might turn off some people. I think of as a service to not waste your time or that of a buyer. If I would reject a house over that feature I'm not going to suddenly change my mind if I go and look at the house. I would rather know in advance and not waste the seller's time by even setting up an appointment....See MoreAnnie Deighnaugh
