Comments (15)Palimpsest, you have outdone yourself with these moodboards! In RE: your first post, I actually brought home Desert Gray and Suede Gray in addition to the Architectural Gray! I thought both of those would work okay with the brown tile, too. I really love this range and hope I can use it in some shape or color. But wow, the Spa and Mint Ice look fantastic! I'd definitely consider one of those, particularly the mint. And you're right, those colors have the added bonus of being period appropriate. The marble actually looks better than I thought it would too; I had considered it but ruled it out, for whatever reason. I also really like the Biscuit next to the tile, but my only hesitation is that the bathtub and countertop are STARK white...do you think that would clash? Thanks!!...See MoreAdvice on converting first-floor full bathroom to half bathroom
Comments (19)As a real estate appraiser I would advise to try to keep it. It will reduce the valuation by a few percent. If I were to appraise your home, I would now have to compare and adjust it from a 3 bathroom home to a 2.5. That's anywhere from $2,500 to $5,000 adjustment downwards. Understand that I don't know where you live or your real estate market. Even though there is no bedroom on the floor, it's a very usable space. At the very least, I'd put in a shower. You just never know when someone will lose their mobility. It looks like an older home. If your laundry room is in the basement, you may want to reconfigure it to bring the laundry up to the main living area. That would be an improvement in utility and the only reason why I would consider eliminating it. Hard to see everything, but you could reconfigure the doorway/entry and take over that vestibule area....See MoreBathroom Wall Tile Dilemma
Comments (11)I don't think you're over-imagining that they don't look good, because they just don't! White is always a classic, maybe with small black accents? Plain rectangles or squares. When we built our vacation home many years ago, the builder's choices were also very limited. We chose plain white for all the bathrooms, and they still look good over 25 years later. They aren't cutting edge or dramatic or anything like that, just simple and nice. You can dress up the bathroom with accessories--towels, counter-top accessories, light fixtures, etc. I wouldn't worry about using the same tile in multiple bathrooms if your choices are limited and there's only one or two you like....See MoreBathroom Remodel Layout Dilemma
Comments (2)First get a nice acrylic tub and tile the walls and have a shower for that back wall use a nice hinged glass shower screen instaed of a shower curtain to make the space feel larger . 60" is not big enough for 2 sink vanity . I just saw that tub honestly do you want to try to relax sitting up in a tub and all squished my legs are almost 39" long no way . Get that tub/ shower in a 32" width, nice deep saoker 19" deep or more so much better use of the space the tub can be 66: long for sure . No toilet room they are silly and waste space . No one should be using the toilet while someone else is in the bathroom . IMO if at all possible do a european style toilet room with a sink for hubby where it has entry from the hallway. It also will be great when you add another body to the mix. That strorage cabinet will be awesome and useable if no toilet room ....See Moreburnitup1
