All the Goodies I found today!!!
Comments (30)Great finds, gotta love the goodies:) Great work on your garden, I know how bad trumpet creeper is, since it's all over the place here :( It sure does stink! lol... and I know how hard it is to even get started on anything let alone finish when you have a young one ( my youngest grandson and his mama live with me now!)I love the mirrors in your garden, that one with the Japanese Maple is simply beautiful! I seldom get to reply to a post anymore, or do many projects, or even get to yard sales, which is one of my favorite things ( when I miss a yard sale on Saturday it messes up my whole week and I can't keep track of the days, it must be a sign of old age!!??!!?? lol) However, we were driving by a yard sale Friday so we decided to give the grandson a dollar to spend and he bought two books and a toy truck, and I got a box of rhinestone earrings and another box with rhinestone necklaces, and a gold necklace with a gold heart and a small diamond, some pink leather newborn baby shoes...some of these things are for making a shadowbox...I spent $4 and got my yard sale fix:)...See MoreLook Who I Found Today!
Comments (8)I reckon I do have a touch of emtpy nest syndrome, Christine, but I didn't net this guy. I found the caterpillar and kept it safe from harm in a butterfly enclosure until it went through the cycle. As soon as we found the moth had emerged from the dirt, we released him. You are right, I would never see him against a tree. But I do hope to see him visit my flower beds this evening, along with the other one I saw last night. I'm going to be very alert as it begins to grow dark outside. The other night, as I went to take the dogs out, I noticed what I thought was a green anole moving up my screen, inside the back porch. I thought it odd, since it was late at night, and they are usually active mostly in the daytime. So I took a closer look, and it was a gecko, rather than an anole. While I know there are populations of geckos established in this area, you don't see them real often. I was surprised to find him, and he was VERY cute. I wonder if he was trying to sell me auto insurance???? Been meaning to tell you that the giant red canna you gave me is fantastic! Blooming like crazy all summer long, and making new cannas at the base. It's the only one I have right now that isn't declining for the winter yet. Thanks so much!! The hummers love it! Comments (22)Whew--it's HOT AND HUMID out there today! I'm figuring out ways to acquire more *spaaaacce* for all the in-coming hosta and the newly acquired ones at the KNOLLWOOD SALE----Dave!! You're right--I have it on my calendar from the first inkling I get about the date and I pre-shop several days ahead to see what they may be getting! I was trying to remember to let you know about it, AFTER I got first dibs on what was there--ahead of you! LOL No--really--I was going to email you and tell you about the sale but I'm so focused on making *spppaaaace*, that I forgot! btw--they had the reverse of June (can't remember the name) but it seems they are so wildly popular, they flew off the shelves BEFORE the sale--all of them!!! Another--BTW, Dave, if you HAVE to manage the size of Niagara Falls, and you HAVE to find someone to take a piece off your hands, again--I'm here!!! The one you gave me that I divided to share with Buff didn't make it in Spring '07 (thankfully, hers survived)!!!! But, remember me-only if you HAVE to control it to make room for what YOU bring back from the sale!! hehehe Alexa--that is so nice of you to offer a piece of your A.S., but since I do have an eye coming from an ebay win, don't disturb yours. HUGE, you say??? Oh my--I bet they are truly awesome! Got pics.? I loved the one I got from Hallson's, especially as it matured and mine had 'June-like' colors that were more evident in my shady spot! Again--THANK YOU, for the offer!!!! :o)...See MoreA Cute E-mail I got this morning.
Comments (6)My little 5 yr old son put us in our place (a long time ago). This joyful package of life came bounding toward us one day and remarked, "I know why there are 2 parents!" My wife and I shot glances toward eash other and we read on each other face. So soon? We'd hoped this sort of conversation would come later. My wife replied, "No. Tell us why." He replied, "Its because when I am hungry and one of you is busy, the other one can feed me!" That explained it. Thanks for little boys and their logic. It put us in our place and taught us a lesson: Get the full story before answering - don't make asumptions....See MoreCA Kate z9
