Monstera Deliciosa browning/yellowing on new growth- help!

I got an adult monstera deliciosa a few weeks ago and am trying very hard to keep it happy and healthy. When I received it it had one new leaf shooting out. It has since began to unfurl more, and today I noticed on one segment of the edge of the new leaf, it has begun to yellow and brown (feeling on the softer side, not crispy). It looks like one side of this leaf is more yellow and pale than the other. I've noticed some brown spots on the back side of this unhealthy looking patch as well as along the stem that none of the other stems seem to have. Any clue on what this could be, or if theres anything I should do? Thank you in advance!!

Has not been repot
Sitting in west facing window
Grow light on from 9am-12pm (working up to more time)
Watering when soil feels dry. I have been very careful to not overwater. So far, I have been watering every 1-2 weeks depending on when the soil feels ready.
Last time I watered was 7 days ago, and soil feels slightly moist today (is this not drying out fast enough?)
Haven't noticed any pests.
Have not fertilized in a few weeks after noticing green fertilizing balls (I'm guessing they're fertilizing balls?) in the soil when purchased

Yes green balls are fertilizer. you said no repots, so Im guessing plant is still in its original store soil. Those are usually way too water retentive. A lot of people on here either use Al’s 5-1-1 mix for tropical or soil mixed 50% w/ 50% sifted perlite or pumice. 5-1-1 has 5 parts pine or fir bark, 1 pt. Sifted, coarse-grade perlite & 1 part peat.

The issue w/ your Monstera looks like bacterial leaf spot from too wet soil, but I could be mistaken.. others on here may be better at diagnosing. These grow under trees & climb their trunks like a vine in the wild, south of the equator. Your water & sun accommodations sound good, as long as you keep it where it’s at, that light would be similar to what it wants, which is part shade.

I had mine for so many years and it got so big, that I finally gave it away. Too much. It was way too healthy. It lived in the same large plastic hanging basket the whole time (35 years). Watered once a week, east facing window with blinds opened to horizontal slats (office setting in northern Wisconsin). Once in a while a leaf did die. I regularly chopped off some of the dangling root things that kept reappearing. Basically a plant that wants neglect. Just change to better-draining soil and back off on the water, really dry between waterings. I'd cut off the funky stem.

I'm so sorry I haven't revisited this in a long time. I first got two rooted cuttings from a more mature plant, but end of giving that to my mother. Because this pot only consists of two vines, she doesn't get as many new leaves. Maybe 1-2 a month. I got this 04/2017 Then I got a more dense, but MUCH younger plant (plants? there are like at least 7 vines in the pot) from Home Depot. Both grew very quickly. I sometimes get 2-4 new leaves a month. This I got maybe around 08/2017 You can see the difference in maturity. The leaves on my mother's plants are significantly larger. I have since removed many older leaves from the bottom, but I have no qualms about removing older leaves to clean up the appearance. I fertilize it maybe once a month while watering using half strength of regular 20-20-20. (1 small scoop in a gallon of water.) =) Happy gardening.

The emerging leaves are pale, telling me that it's not getting the bright indirect sunlight it needs. The soil mix looks fine, very similar to what I use, but it's not getting watered enough. These plants love water, they just don't like wet feet. If that makes any sense. With the soil mix that you're using, you can water it much more often. Mine stays outside for most of the year and I water it almost daily. Plus, I rarely fertilize it and it still grows like a weed. That's because it gets all of the bright, indirect sunlight that it wants. It doesn't matter how much fertilizer you "feed" a plant, those fertilizers aren't food, and they won't do any good if a plant isn't getting the sunlight it needs to photosynthesize. Plants manufacture their own food, and they can only do that through photosynthesis. As for the aerial roots, you won't really see many of those until the stems grow much longer. Just give your plant much brighter indirect sunlight and more frequent waterings, and it will take care of the rest itself. These plants are called monsters for a reason, HaHa... Also, don't bother misting. Monsteras love humidity, but will grow perfectly fine in the interiors of our homes. My place uses gas heat, which pretty much strips any moisture out of the air during the winter months, and it doesn't phase my monstera one bit.

Hi everyone! I’ve owned my monstera for 2.5 years and I’ve never had any troubles with it. It’s been a great grower and super easy to care for. I moved last month and ever since then it’s been slowly yellowing on the edges and the growth has stopped. Last week it finally warmed up in CA, so I thought maybe it needed some warmth and I put it outside for an hour last week (not in direct sunlight, just under my porch) and the next day I noticed the dark areas on one leaf. I’m assuming the leaf got burned, even though it wasn’t in the direct sunlight? I will also mention that last week I took out some of the old dry soil and replaced it with it new soil (a mixture of MG organic potting soil, peat moss, and perlite. Maybe not the best but It’s all I had on hand at the moment) and some fertilizer (osmocote plus for indoor/outdoor plants). I’m no plant pro, so maybe I gave it too much fertilizer. Maybe too many changes at once? I’m wondering if the leaf will repair itself or if I should be worried that something else might be wrong with it. Thanks so much for your help. Is that the only leaf that is yellowing? Probably the oldest leaf? Do not worry about one leaf. Are the rest of the leaves less perky than before. Roots grow differently in soil than in water. I prefer to root directly in soil and mixing soil slowly in the water doesn't help the transfer. The plant actually has to grow new roots or at least new root tips into the soil mixture to take up the moisture from it (the soil). That takes a little adjusting and the plant it a little stressed during the process but should be fine. I hope you are using a nice open mix.....one that stays moist but has a lot of air space (e.g. extra perlite and/or bark (you can add orchid mix) in the soil). keep lightly moist. If the plant get real limp you can get a large clear bag and put it around the plant to raise humidity for a few days while new roots get established.....than gradually open the bag over several days. The lighting look probably good..........very bright but no direct southern sun mid-day (mornign or late day sun ok). Never fertilize a newly transplanted or potted plant. Later when it begins growing new leaves you can start some light fertilization but not now. Soil should never be soggy. It should be slightly moist (but have a lot of air space in it, as I mentioned above). Later when it is rooted in you can let it dry between watering.

Haha woah omg! Hi!! Wow what a weird small world. I will tell my mom you say hi! Also (for anyone reading this thread), since posting I have repotted this plant with better draining soil and trimmed off some suspicious roots and it seems to be doing better now.
