How can I intake duct air on main level to push hot/cold thru ducts

My old central AC air unit died about a month ago and my townhouse has a ducted system. The AC system needs to be completely replaced (new A coil, compressor and furnace) and to save money I'm looking into getting ductless split air for my main level. The split air compressor is also much quieter. I plan to just use fans/portable AC/heat for the top floor & basement. They aren't occupied as much.

However I'm looking for methods to push hot/cold air though my existing ducts to the top & below levels. How can I do this? Is there a way to get a powerful intake fan connect to one of my ducts that sucks hot/cold air out of a main floor duct and pushes it through the rest of the ducts (plan on closing off the other ducts on my main floor.
