Changing lever handles on Chicago faucet to porcelain

I am hoping to purchase a chicago faucet to go with the Kohler Brockway sink. Does anyone know if another manufacturer's porcelain lever handles will fit on the chicago sinks? I was looking at Signature Hardware but their specs are not very good for the knobs. Chicago faucets used to make a porcelain handle but discontinued in 2006. :(

I wouldn't count on it at all. If you're set on that, I'd keep looking until you found the product you like. Check out @StarCraft Custom Builders excellent faucet reviews for hints on which other companies might make what you want.

Have you called or tried Chicago Faucet Shoppe? I've bought grohe replacement hand held shower heads from them, no issues.

I tried to find replacements for my (brand) Chicago Faucet porcelain levers when I was selling my house...the threads inside the lever were beginning to strip out and I was frequently adjusting the orientation of the lever handles. In the end, I had the faucet replaced with one plain chrome when I listed the house.

The faucet set a long discontinued color and I couldn't use brass or chrome even with just a little showing. Color was something like 'midnight pearl'...a gleaming charcoal color kitchen or bar gooseneck that I loved in that bath for about 25 years ;0)

Are the side levers ever on the left side? Many (most?) side-handle faucets can be installed with the lever on either side, or even in the front. There are a few threads here on the subject if you want to hunt for them. I always use my left hand to turn it on, too. I think a top handle would be easiest to turn on with my wrist, but the handle in front is working fine for me too. I completely agree with the 2-handle faucets being a pain. Never, never again. lol. (For me the main problem was that since I always turn on with my left hand, I was always turning on the hot water. That and not being able to use my wrist.)

I ordered decorative porcelain handles for my faucet at The Shoppe. It was an excellent experience. I thought that they sent me the wrong handles (hard to explain, but the say "hot" and cold" on them, and depending on the handle style, the letters can be oriented differently). I called them, they were very apologetic, and the fast-shipped a new pair immediately, along with a return label for the first pair. Someone even called me back, addressed me by name, and gave me her name as a contact. Turns out, they HAD send me the correct pair (I realized this when the second pair was identical to the first). It was my mistake/misunderstanding. Excellent customer service!!! :-) Francy

Faucet lever on left or right side?????

I am right handed and am having our plumber switch ours to the left after a couple months of use. (Kohler, as do many other single hole faucets, rotate to either side during install). I use hot water most of the time, and am used to turning on hot water with my left hand, so that's what I prefer (already had handle switched on my bar faucet).

It depends. I like the look of two handles, and installed one in our bathroom last year. It was an improvement over two knobs, but while the faucet still makes me happy to look at, it drives me nuts to use. Temperature regulation takes that extra split second x number of times a day; the two handles take up y amount of extra space on either side of the faucet, and there seem to be extra bits to clean - all inconvenience level problems. Changing it out to a uglier one-handled lever is creeping steadily up an already very long house to-do list. We also have two handles on our basement utility sink. It's still inconvenient, but not as often, and I'm keeping that faucet. I'd put two handles in a guest bath or show kitchen, but our kitchen is getting a single lever handle, non-negotiable.
