new to area rugs... need help
Comments (10)I've been looking at some other rugs - all styles. I do not mind a rug that is a little more traditional - I think DH prefers something a little more contemporary - but not too much so. So now I am confused... we are on a budget - big time.. so trying to find reasonably priced rugs that don't look cheap. Thats why I was looking at JCP. The above "patchwork" like rug will be around 20 shipped. So I am using that as a guideline. Was looking at a rug link from another post and found a bunch of 5x8 on clearance that are a bit more traditional but couln't find anything in 8x10 for the large part of the room. I don;t think I can mic these more traditional with the one above.. here is what I found that I liked - do you have any other suggestions as to what might work.. Please help!! These are from Rugs USA 5' x 8' Wool Hand Tufted Panel Multi Rug ($129) 5' x 8' Wool Machine Made Heritage II Brown Rug ($164 +30%off) 5' x 8' Wool Hand Tufted Dami Brown Rug ($177+30%off) Like the style unsure of colors. 5' x 8' Wool Machine Made Kingdom Tan Rug ($164+30% off) These are all for the area where we have our desk - Please Help if you have any other suggestions. Also - just a side not - we have attempted to layout this room 3 times and nothing seems to work great. We are considering trying to look at other furniture options if we can sell ours for a decent amount to cover the costs. Thanks, Ruth...See MoreNeed help with area rugs please! (lots of pix)
Comments (5)Thanks for the responses! They looked good to me, but I needed some other opinions. That tea table does look weird, now that I've seen it in a photo. This is what that area looks like with a table: The actual dining room has always been too small for the china and table. I think that the front area will probably go back to being the dining room and the smaller area a study/lounge/whatever (the two matching wing chairs are headed for CL). We don't have a formal lifestyle and I'd like these rooms to be more than just wasted space. Before we got the secretary (from CL) I don't think anyone had ever sat on the sofa. Anyway, I'll get some rugs and matching drapes and then work on the furniture arrangement. The Serapi/Villa combo is lovely, btw!...See MoreHELP!!! New home: Need so much new stuff and area rug help!
Comments (22)Home Interiors & Jodie White, Sorry guys. I'm new to this. Obviously, i need to create an Ideabook! I tend to go more towards muted brown, red, yellow/gold, rust colors (in past), but open to other somewhat neutral palettes. I actually love the console, but was considering an antique cream color (if I could make that work?). My tastes tend to be traditional, rustic, a little farmhouse (pottery barn, restoration hardware, ballard designs) but with so many current needs, all those in a TIGHT budget! Aktillery9, i do like all of those looks. My husband did just tell me, due to wiring, there is chance we may not be able to mount on flat wall as i hoped, so i may be forced to go back to corner console again. :( When I get a chance, I'll post some of my fav looks....See MoreNeed help living room area rug
Comments (26)I kind of like this color palette for your room, so I might look for a rug that is less boisterous and has a light base with bits of the darker color throughout. Maybe even a bit of the color of your floor for some zip. Really like Night Train and Shoreline. If you're willing to go bolder with the green, it would be great to see something brighter and more rich than the wall color. I was going to suggest this gorgeous rug until I found out it's over $4k! These next three photos are supposedly of the same rug, but any way you go with it, I like the colors and subtle pattern for your room. The blue-grays and yellow-greens seem to work....See More- 3 years ago
