new to area rugs... need help
Comments (10)I've been looking at some other rugs - all styles. I do not mind a rug that is a little more traditional - I think DH prefers something a little more contemporary - but not too much so. So now I am confused... we are on a budget - big time.. so trying to find reasonably priced rugs that don't look cheap. Thats why I was looking at JCP. The above "patchwork" like rug will be around 20 shipped. So I am using that as a guideline. Was looking at a rug link from another post and found a bunch of 5x8 on clearance that are a bit more traditional but couln't find anything in 8x10 for the large part of the room. I don;t think I can mic these more traditional with the one above.. here is what I found that I liked - do you have any other suggestions as to what might work.. Please help!! These are from Rugs USA 5' x 8' Wool Hand Tufted Panel Multi Rug ($129) 5' x 8' Wool Machine Made Heritage II Brown Rug ($164 +30%off) 5' x 8' Wool Hand Tufted Dami Brown Rug ($177+30%off) Like the style unsure of colors. 5' x 8' Wool Machine Made Kingdom Tan Rug ($164+30% off) These are all for the area where we have our desk - Please Help if you have any other suggestions. Also - just a side not - we have attempted to layout this room 3 times and nothing seems to work great. We are considering trying to look at other furniture options if we can sell ours for a decent amount to cover the costs. Thanks, Ruth...See MoreOur new home, seems to me, needs new blood. Comments (13)I so miss your frequent posts. I'm going to be moving to a special, :-) private, worm inn posting area since I have given up on flow thoughts that do not flow through and have moved on to worm inns that harvest a round hole straight down the middle ignoring the sides. Frustration seems to be the main attraction in Vermicomposting. It is for me. Maybe I will still post here. I don't know. I am a bit frustrated by posters who want the world delivered to their doorstep and have never read a sentence about worms ever. I feel bad about ignoring a few posts but others have stepped in. I hope they too do not burn out. At least here is not facebook where recently on the worm part a lady posted of having these worms in her garden that she wanted to get rid of due to fear they might eat her plants because they are organic matter. Well facebook does have that humor aspect. I feel liked I tried to run North on the under ground railroad but was recaptured. I think eventually facebook is going to eat places like this up. In some ways here is better than facebook. So that is sad. In many ways facebook is very, very bad and nobody should ever go there. On the other hand I have some good worm news in a different post. Edit: The area to start posts seems to be blank. Mostly I wanted to say I have a 5 gallon bucket full of harvest and cocoons and new, baby worms. I have not seen posted timelines of how to keep worms so as to not harvest away cocoons in vermicastings so as to retain them for worm additions to the system. I have not seen posted timelines of how to keep worms so as to not harvest for sale the most productive cocoon producers. Would it be better to sell worms not yet at prime or past their breeding prime for fishing? Are we selling our best breeders at their prime? Timelines for harvest seem to be needed. Glad to see you still posting Chuckie. I always enjoy reading and learning. I think your methods of brewing castings are being scientifically verified as time goes on....See MoreNew home in central New Jersey- need help decorating
Comments (45)I read an article on this site not long ago (can't remember where now) that I thought gave some good advice. Buy a couple of high quality pieces. Really nice sofa and chair for example in a neutral color. Then accessorize and add color with less expensive pillows and smaller more original pieces from flea markets as others have suggested or even second hand stores. If you spend some time browsing photos on Houzz and start an idea book you will soon see the similarities in what you like or don't like. Even colors you gravitate towards. So you could get some nice pieces and ideas from Ethan Allen but don't buy everything from them. Fill in with less expensive and unique pieces. It will keep the room from looking like a showroom. Also once you pick fabrics or pillows you like paint stores (at least my local SW) is great about helping pick out paint colors. I think you could very well pull a room together based on an inspiration photo and help from furniture and paint stores. I am no whiz at decorating but I have learned a lot from reading these forums. Good luck and have some fun with it :)...See Morehelp! hate the area around front door of new construction home

Can’t do much taller door because will hit front entry light. Thinking of changing front entry light to recessed because then could. Appreciate all your ideas! Meeting with designer tomorrow but wanted ideas. Thank you!!!...See MoreRelated Professionals
