Clump Shots (pics)
Comments (13)Nancy, One problem with the color on my PASSION DISTRICT is that the tree it is planted under has died. By afternoon PD is hurting. The tree it is planted under is a clump of 4 scrub oaks. Two have died, but they all need to be removed due to storm damage from Ivan. It's going to tear up the whole bed, so I've been reluctant. Now it seems I have no choice. Ann, I can relate. It takes several years for them to form a nice clump. And if you're like me and move them, it really sets them back. I am trying very hard to plant them in a good location the first time, but sometimes you just don't know until you've had it a year or two. Kathy...See MoreTodays clump shots..........(lots of pix)
Comments (20)Nice clumps shots. I have to ask about your ICE CARNIVAL as I've been told the true color has a yellowish tint and not very white. Your pic shows it to appear very white. Do you think in different parts of the country the bloom shows differently? Last year mine bloomed more with a yellowish tint but as the day progressed it turned more white. This one has me perplexed as the scapes came up this year very thick like a tet. I also have Eenie. Hope it blooms this year as last year it did not. Great shot of it. I think though I will have to get rid of it. When I bought it I didn't realize just how short the scapes are. I have not seen a scape yet on Trahlyta but after today's rain maybe I can venture out tomorrow to check. If yours is just having its FFO now, I guess I have a longer wait than I thought for my first bloom. Thanks for sharing your pics. Julia...See MoreClump Shots Anyone?
Comments (17)I am shocked that someone dug your daylily, although I hear it happens. At least they left half of it, though. Makes you wonder who it could be though. I always love your Pink Gingham and it just looks spectacular in that photo. Hearts of Fire looks gorgeous too. Beautiful flowers on Water drops & Cosmic Kaleidoscope, I love that patterned look. About Mole Relief, I always hesitate to use poisons with my cats, do you mean this would be ok? I don't seem to have trouble with voles but have shrews and lots of moles. The cats catch a lot of moles and voles, & I have a trap I've used in the past, but seems like there are huge numbers this year....See MoreTuesday's Wet Wonders; Many Clumps
Comments (11)Thank you all for looking and commenting. Several of you commented on Min Octopus. Bless Bill Maryott, it was a bonus from my last order from him. The green and white has really grown on me. Yes, the edges have been white on it, bu the white is more apparent when it is warmer. Nancy, I have loved Black Fathom Depths from the first time I saw it. Julia, Pink Gingham had a multitude of blooms every day. I could have posted a similar photo tio this every day. I do not understand why they quit selling this one. The thrips don't bother it. It usually re-blooms also. It is just a good plant for my garden, and next year could be a down year, but it has never had one here since I got it in 2006. Nancy, I always take a couple shots of the garden and I will change positions a couple of times nad take it again to get my better shot of it. Debra, Purple Tarantula did not bloom last year, but it looks okay this year. As I said, I am really pleased with Increased Complexity. kay...See MoreMaryl (Okla. Zone 7a)
