Julia, it is a wine purple, not pink...what can I say...the sun does not help. Debra, the zinnias were from seed. Please say yes had thrip damage to start with, but seems okay now. I wish you had rebloom too, Rita. I had a little taste of how hard it is in cooler climates when we had that very cool snap at the beginning of daylily season and so many didn't want to open. Nice clumps shots. I have to ask about your ICE CARNIVAL as I've been told the true color has a yellowish tint and not very white. Your pic shows it to appear very white. Do you think in different parts of the country the bloom shows differently? Last year mine bloomed more with a yellowish tint but as the day progressed it turned more white. This one has me perplexed as the scapes came up this year very thick like a tet. I also have Eenie. Hope it blooms this year as last year it did not. Great shot of it. I think though I will have to get rid of it. When I bought it I didn't realize just how short the scapes are. I have not seen a scape yet on Trahlyta but after today's rain maybe I can venture out tomorrow to check. If yours is just having its FFO now, I guess I have a longer wait than I thought for my first bloom. Thanks for sharing your pics. Julia

I agree with Brad on my picks. A tire is better than the background of some of my pics. I guess I get so wrapped up the the flowers, I don't notice my grungy garden shoes til after I have posted and everyone has already viewed it. Lots of polite folks here, no one ever mentioned it.

WEll, sherry, You probably know I fees Feral cats, and Sunny is just one of anine, but there are also at least two cats that have homes but like the food here, so they come to eat. I gie all of them names, usually just whatever comes to mind. They all know their names even if they are scared of me like Sunshine, Streaky, Twinkle and Midnight are, There is a new black and white one that I have yet to name. The old time feral cats and the ones that like the food are not at all afraid of me. we feed from nine to twelve cats every day: most of them twice a day. kay

Jean, glad you enjoyed them!

Lrae, last year I used Hooker's Formula. This year I didn't...and it shows. Instead I top dressed each DL with a combination of manure, compost, and slow release fertilizer (Expert). It just wasn't enough to last through the entire bloom season. Most of my DL's are putting up rebloom scapes now. I think I will hit them with a weak solution of Miracle Grow tomorrow after the sprinkler runs. Maybe that will perk them up a bit.

Kathy, those are beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing them with us. I have All Fired up, too -- it lives up to its name -- blooms like crazy. I also have Passion District, but am very disappointed with the color. Maybe I should use Hooker's formula. It is new this year, so maybe next year it might look better. Love that Snooks seedling!

Nancy, One problem with the color on my PASSION DISTRICT is that the tree it is planted under has died. By afternoon PD is hurting. The tree it is planted under is a clump of 4 scrub oaks. Two have died, but they all need to be removed due to storm damage from Ivan. It's going to tear up the whole bed, so I've been reluctant. Now it seems I have no choice.

Ann, I can relate. It takes several years for them to form a nice clump. And if you're like me and move them, it really sets them back. I am trying very hard to plant them in a good location the first time, but sometimes you just don't know until you've had it a year or two.

Love the clump shots! I think my favorite is the first one, with the bright Cannas in the background. Everything looks so nice and tidy with your mulch. Do you hire yourself out? I still have six big beds to go, and it hit 89 today.

Kathy - Gorgeous clumps and everything is so nicely mulched and weed free! Wish my gardens looked as good. The clump shot of Passion District is my favorite. I don't think it need fertilizer at all. That shade of red is lovely.

Kathy, I am taken with the Snooks seedling. It is so bright.. Mine have started to bloom some but mostly the seedlings. It was 98 degrees in our town today. Hot, hot!! It was somewhat cooler at my house on the mountain though...Thanks for the pick me up!! Ellie

Chris, Hire myself out? Ha! I have more than I can take care of right here. I do have one advantage though. I can start laying mulch in Feb. wearing jeans and a sweatshirt. So by the time the 90 degree temps hit, I'm finished with that job.

Debra, The only weed free areas are in the pics...but don't tell anyone.

Ellie, 98??? Whew...and I thought it was bad here. What are we going to do when summer starts?

I just checked the weather for us and it is supposed to get to 95 today, 98 tomorrow and 100 on Monday! Yikes! Guess who is going out to water while it is still 'only' 80!

Wonderful pictures! Like them all! That Snooks Seedling is fascinating...putting on a nice show!
