Should I buy a used Michael Phelps swim spa?

We are tossing between (1) building a 8x20 gunite pool + spa + Badu swim jets for $68K; (2) buying a new Swimspa for $40-45K or (3) buying a 4 year old Michael Phelps Momentum 19’ swim spa for $25K+$5.5K craning & transportation.

We are on a tight budget but want to find the best solution that would give us about 15 years of use.

Our backyard is on a slope so there is added cost to build retaining walls to house both types of pools.

We really love the current in the Michael Phelps pool (SwimEx is beyond our budget) compared to the other brands. We have not tried the Badu jets so we don’t know if we would like it.

At first, we were leaning towards the used swim spa but the crane company would not insure us on the pool itself due to it not being new, which means if the swim spa breaks during transport, we run the risk of paying $25K for a lemon. Since we are buying from a private seller, the retailer who sold it to them did an inspection and gave us the “all good” and offered 3 months warranty.

Should we take this risk or just buy and new swim spa or build our custom inground pool?

Has anyone bought a used swim spa before? How’s it working out?
