Couches with short wait times? struggling...

so I waited til the last minute to buy couches [duh]....and now I'm in a pinch....

ideas for short wait times [<2 weeks] that are good quality comfortable...

3 seat attached cushions made in america preferred.

I went to a local store that supposedly had lots in stock...last week...now nothing...

Thanks.

I had asked for help decorating great room if anyone wants to check that out too.

Always help to post your location if looking for something in stock. There are no sofas you can get from a maker in 2 weeks time from a warehouse, they don't move that fast.

Washington DC area is my store location, I happen to have two of these Taylor Kings "Glanmar" sofas in stock in Notionality fabric, they are exact matching down to the pillows and made at the same time.. If you are within 5 hours of the store, we can deliver immediately. $ 5K for both before shipping / delivery. USA made. Delivery charge $ 120 per hour outbound (NYC would be $ 600, for example).

I got mine on QVC the shopping channel. They were selling HP's and it was one of their special items. Just happened to flip the channels and got hooked. I did see the same one at Best Buy one weekend for the same price. I would check their ads. Mine is 1Gig with 160 HD. These little machines are so tough you can bang them around (I do). They stay cool and are silent. I have no idea how they are built, but they work so well. I saw an Acer with 2G and 150 HD but it comes with Vista basic. The screen was 11" and costs $499.00. I think that's overkill because you woudnt't use these little machines for much more than internet. The screens are small and if you spent hours reading on it your eyes would hurt. But they are 10 times better than reading on a Palm or Blackberry, plus they don't weigh much more. Best thing since sliced bread... Jane

Thought I'd chime in with my closet system, although I admit I like the idea of the rings....In my tiny closet I have blouses, then skirts then dresses. When I rehang a worn item that can be worn again, it not only goes on the very left side of the closet no matter what type of item it is, I use a bright colored flocked hanger, instead of the black flocked ones the clean items are on. (Except skirts on a skirt hanger. But are identified easily as worn as they are in the "used" section.) Admittedly, this is a doubled system, that most would not need but helps me. I originally just used the different colored hangers and put the used blouse in with the blouses, etc., but eventually liked the idea of keeping the worn items out of the clean ones so started just putting them separately, naturally still using the bright hangers. If I forget and hang a worn item in with the clean, or vice versa, the hanger will identify it. When I do laundry, it is easy to locate the clothes that will be washed...(aside from the rest in the hamper!)

smalloldhouse - thank you. That is very helpful. I am leaning towards the two sofas facing each other, simply because it provides more comfortable seating for a greater number of people. Your experience is very helpful. The TV angle is not ideal, but tv viewers have the basement tv and sectional. As for the tufting, I totally agree. I would order it without any tufting. As for perpendicular sofas - the asymmetry of having neither sofa centered on it's wall really bothered me. The window treatment to conceal the asymmetry with the windows is a good idea, but I prefer no window panels for this space. If I order the two two-seat sofas, I can try out the perpendicular arrangement to see what it's like in real life. I'm also not thrilled about not sitting in the sofa prior to purchase.

I'm not sure I understand the connection between living a sheltered (not shelter) life and being gossipy. No, I've never acted like that and I do think it is pretty sad. Here's the thing - when a potential topic of conversation are the actions a third party may choose to do for one person and not for another, the best thing to do is not bring it up with others. You don't ask a mutual friend "Did Patty invite you to come over to join her small family Christmas Eve get-together?", or "What kind of Christmas present did Patty give you, mine was terrific", or similar things. A simple one to not mention - "I sent Patty a card but didn't get one in return, did you?" What you're looking to do is either slime Patty, or make the other person feel bad in cases where you suspect you were on the favored end and someone else wasn't. All of the above are best avoided.

You can also go for two sofas that are not necessarily matching, depending on layout and your tolerance for such a thing. For example, this Hancock and Moore Ava leather sofa and Taylor King Cozy sofa would work great together in an "L" shape. Stay in the same color families and proportions. (these are also in stock in my store)
