Saturday's blooms

Got some much needed rain yesterday. It saved me from having to water, but we are still dry. Many seedlings in this batch. I will save them till the end.

ERIN LEA: A nice older yellow/gold with a bubbly/toothy edge.

ROSE F. KENNEDY - MIne has also been slow to increase.

FOOLED ME and SPIDERMAN (Indian Giver in the lower right corner)

SWEDISH GIRL

PEA GREEN WITH ENVY: Second season in the garden.

WILLOW DEAN SMITH: Great all around plant.

PEPPERMINT PINWHEEL: A nice bicolor/tone.

SKYHOOKS: This one is great. When buying property it is about location location location. The plants in this corner of the garden are benefitting from me placing a gutter on my shed and having the water (when it rains) draining in the general area.

Erin Lea is a good looking yellow. I've heard of it before but haven't tried it yet for some reason........Prairie Pink Lace is tempting. I'm not familiar with the daylilies of Mr. Ellison and don't see him listed on Charlotte's hybridizers list......Your Red Volunteer x Enchanting looking pretty good even in your warmish afternoon. Shows promise for you.........Ram is always an eye catcher and Our Friend Olin still looking nice and ruffly............Really nice group in this post..............Maryl

Peppermint Pinwheel can throw some beautiful blooms, but also splotchy ones. Scapes here are short. Yours looks good, so perhaps I will save it.

CHEROKEE HERITAGE: Introduced by the late Marie Skelley, a region three hybridizer. I used to visit her gardens several times a year. She was very active in the Free State Daylily Society and the National Capital Daylily Club.

PRAIRIE PINK LACE: A Robert Ellison Seedling. It is full of ruffles.

CRINTONIC SHADOWLANDS: Rather unusul eye. Vigorous grower.

RAM: Huge yellow flowers

CONDILLA: A nice double. It is a pain to divide as all the fans seem to come from one crown. I usually have to dig the entire clump up and perform surgery, One of these days I will remember to cut more than what was ordered out of it.

OUR FRIEND OLIN: The most ruffled one I grow.

TRULY ANGELIC - larger blooms since we got all the rain. It is on bud and scape overload again this year. OH GREAT ONE - worked out better after the first 2 blooms CANTER - has been pumping out the blooms. I love the ruffled edge on it. Not sure if the pic really shows the edging. EVIDENCE OF ALIENS - multi blooms this morning and big. Poor guy is so short this year. BOSS LADY - not quite finished blooming in the lower garden spot. I wonder if Flaming Wildfire scape will beat David's daylily that was 40 inches. FW is registered to be 36 inches but I've not seen it more than 28 - 30 here. I'll stop here. Blooms are winding down and I'm anxious to clean the bed in the photo above and remove a lot of the plants out. Julia

Scandinavia Victorian Poet Emerald Starfish Eyes that See Coach's Magic Man, looks like some blooms are really short, but dog ran thru the bed and knocked some scapes over. I thought they would not bloom, but they just kept on Ashwood Still Night Whip City Fancy Free, has only ever been about half the height it is registered Stumbling Stone poly MEan Green, but camera is showing the color totally off. Flowers are extra large and taller than it has been before, though, it really is talking to me. Unfortunately, I planted Rainbow dragon to the front/side of it. Have it move it, it is no match for Mean Green, he lives up to the name Pleasing to the Eye Cameroon Twister, to far in mid bed for me to deadhead well, but I always seem to overlook some anyway

Mantis, I've had SC for 3 years. It spent the first 2 years in a pot. I finally found a place for it this past fall, so it is still adjusting to being in the ground. It has put up a lot of foliage and several scapes. The jury is still out. I may have more to say next year. David

Peppermint Pinwheel has not been splotchy for me. It reaches its registered height. Actually, mine is a little taller.

So many nice daylilies! Who can't love a combo of Spiderman and Fooled Me? Our Friend Olin looks really pretty, does it open well with all those ruffles? I must be in a ruffley mood this morn, prairie Pin Lace really appeals. Your red seedling looks great, and I like the Vic Lace one a

MARYL: Robert Ellison passed away in 2018. He was out of Rockland, Illinois. If you type in his name and daylilies, there is a garden where he lived and they carry many of his plants, and one of his mentors is carrying out his work.

Nancy,: OFO opens up all the time. It is flat as a pancake and does not hang. I think because the ruffles are rolling, they don't hang up.

What’s not to like about the combo of Fooled Me and Spiderman? Prairie Pink Lace is really pretty and Ram is always an eye catcher. I love seedling #2!! BTW, I sent you a couple of responses to your message.

oh, and OFO is really really ruffly!!

My favorite photo is the combo of Fooled Me and Spiderman. Skyhooks looks like a nice one. My favorite seedling is the second of the Vic. Lace X Boundless Beauty crosses.
