I have had terrible luck with the local custom shops. They are costing thousands more for the exact same things that Barker offers (and with fewer options). I'll check out Kitchencraft. I haven't priced them out yet. Thanks.

I think I am confused on what you are saying. The Barker cabinets come finished with the paint already done. Is it not industry standard?

Also, I saw in that post you mentioned Omega. were they affordable for the quality? Kitchen craft doesn’t seem to have many color options.

I'd re-think the dark gray color. That seems to be a style that reached its height a couple years ago and is waning. It also means you have to have really good lighting, and may create a challenge in choosing floors. However, a pearl gray or dove gray is classic and will always look good.

Barker is a little outside of @User’s experience. You are not buying unfinished doors that will receive a “DIY house paint finish,” your doors would be finished by Barker. Barker Cabinet uses conversion varnish which meets the highest industry standards. Barker Modern are laminate cabinets that use high quality laminates from Italy and Spain on a melamine core, with American plywood boxes made in Oregon. Laminate is more durable than any paint or varnish, but that doesn’t mean it’s the right option for you. Order your sample doors and you will see and feel the difference.

The biggest issue that I have had with Barker was in dealing with the company. They don’t offer any ordering assistance. They are small, communication isn’t their forté, they made a mistake in my small order (four doors) and didn’t resolve it to my satisfaction, so I canceled my big order (cabinets and doors). My plan going forward is to work with Scherr’s.
