Not sure how to edit on my phone. The first pic is of the dresser we are bringing. Solid mahogany I think. Maybe some red to it. The next two pics are the room and furniture placement. The last pic is my inspiration. I love how the furniture is mismatched! So I’m looking for a master bed to buy as a start. Any suggestions???

Hi jazzyjane, I can empathize. I have spent months looking for a bed for my mismatched master bedroom; I am trying to 'marry' a large mahogany antique armoire with my contemporary space. And, my bed needs to fit under a window!

I like the idea of bringing some metal in, to tie to your dressers handles. Love the dresser BTW. These are both from Room and Board

That's a very nice dresser. I agree with the idea of bringing in metal. Since that headboard wall is small, I'd consider paint or wallpaper for it, foregoing the need for an actual headboard/new bed but that's just one idea. Will you need any type of window treatment?

ETA: Do you have the room layout with measurements, including the space below the headboard window? That will be helpful when you're shopping for any new furniture. I ask because the two pics you have of the room seem to have some distortion to them. If you draw out the room on paper, you can play around with the furniture layout. Also, once you're in the home, you might find you're not that fond of the previous owners' furniture arrangement. Having alternate arrangements on paper might be helpful.

If possible do not put bed with back to window; from an Eastern Feng Shui perspective, it is not the best placement. If you absolutely have to have bed there, use heavy drapes on window that you can close when sleeping,

What about placing the bed on the wall facing the large window? Or could it even float in the room?

Hi all - I will look into this after I move! I'm notorious at moving furniture around :) But first I need to choose a bed ASAP :)

The cane sleigh bed you had saved is very similar to the one I posted fro Crate and Barrel. I do love a cane bed! I cant have one because I have a terrible cat and he would surely destroy it. I do think cane is another way to add texture and work the mixup.

I am not sure about your room dimensions, as someone mentioned the pictures looks distorted. I mention this because with sleigh beds, the arc of the headboard can really push it from the head wall and so the bed needs a lot more room from head to foot. My room dimensions made me rule out sleigh beds immediately.

Another thing to consider is footboard. All the beds I posted, and the ones you posted too, have a low foot. I like this, I feel it is visually lighter and I also am tall and I dont like to be in bed and do a big stretch and bump my toes.

We have a ton of space for a sleigh bed and yes we don’t want a footboard either because we are both very tall. Hubby likes this one the best in grey wash (looks medium brown) either in cane or solid headboard. From Crate and Barrel:

Matching wood tones with online pictures is pretty impossible, in my experience. What I do is create a moodboard (I use MS Powerpoint) to see what works for me. I can tell you my armoire and bed are not a perfect match, and in fact, they are more off than I thought based on pictures. The new wood is darker and lacks the 'life' of my antique armoire, but it's all something I can live with and I like it and it's my space and that's what matters.
