wonder if the black matting is cooking them on 90 degree days ... have you used this product before???? its not only super heating the soil .... which keeps it hot deep into the night .. it also reduces a recovery period ... and may be why.. lower limbs are more affected ... and the hole is so small.. i wonder if water is getting to the plant efficiently .... i dont watch video of inanimate objects... lol ... it is interesting how you labeled the plants on the black stuff ... ken

I am in a panic about this same problem. My grape tomato is really going down the tubes in a hurry. I noticed the wilt 2 days ago and now a couple of branches are close to dying. Now I think a couple of other tomato plants are doing the same thing. A giant pumpkin vine is wilting-probably has squash bores or something hopefully not related to my tomato thing. We've got the wisconsin blues for sure. We wait and wait for fresh veges and then the bugs come or the blight.

Seems like whats happening is they were are low on nutrients, started showing the signs(mainly yellow leaves from not having enough nitrogen) especially now that its blooming it uses more. You noticed and were hoping it was just lacking water and added even more which if anything probably made matters worse by keeping the roots from absorbing what little if any nutrients are left if any from the miracle grow soil. Of course this just speculation and my theory of whats going on, considering Im assuming that they have not been feed besides what nutrients were in the potting soil. If there were the case I would let the soil get back to how you had it and FEED it!!

Given the very artificial and far from normal environment for plants that size the cause could be several things. If the were outside and looked like that I would suspect the plants were root bound in the pots. And that may well be the case. But I have no way of knowing the size of your containers they are in. It also sounds as if, assuming these are growing in potting mix and not hydroponically, that you could easily be over fertilizing them. But I have no way of knowing how often "every second watering" is or why you would be feeding them so much so frequently. The most common cause of leaf curl is very inconsistent soil moisture levels - periods of overly wet followed by overly dry etc. Consistent soil moisture levels eliminates the problem. But that is severe curling so without much more info about all the growing conditions you are providing like ambient air temps, growing mix used, size of containers, source of air circulation, etc. etc. this is all just guess work. Sorry. Do you plan to transplant these outdoors? If so how long until they can be moved to a more normal environment? Dave
