Easy Ways to Dress Up Your Home for Fall
Give your interior a warm autumn feeling with branches, leaves and a burst of orange
You don't have to spend the big bucks to decorate for every new season. There are many ways to pinch pennies and still achieve great seasonal décor. The trick is using objects at your disposal, then supplement with a few inexpensive items throughout the house. So before you head into shops with your wallet quivering in your pocket, check out this ideabook for budget-friendly fall decorating ideas. Think of it as extra cash saved for the upcoming holiday season.
Tip No. 1: Go outside! The more you bring in from the outdoors, the more fall-like your home will become. Fallen or trimmed branches are free and add a unique sculptural presence to your space.
You can even keep your branches up throughout the holidays: Add ornaments in December to keep your arrangement seasonally festive.
There is no need for branches to be over the top. A simple, small branch placed within a vignette will do just the trick.
Leaves are full of beautiful color and can be turned into wreaths, placed on mantles, set in bowls, you name it. Natural leaves will dry and curl after a few days; for longer displays, press leaves under a heavy book to dry them flat, or use faux leaves from the craft store.
Bring in leaves still on the branch and place them in a vase for a stunning temporary centerpiece.

Fruit from your local orchards makes a great snack — a great centerpiece, too. Flank it with some small pumpkins, and voila, a fall tablescape has emerged.
Pinecones were always my mother’s go-to fall decorating specialty, and the house always felt warmer once she had them on display. Mix pinecones with garlands atop your mantle for a seasonal accessory that will last through the holidays.
Simply place pinecones along your dining table as part of your tablescape.
Step 2: Add or swap out inexpensive items, such as dishes or placemats throughout your home. This orange and white combo is fresh, contemporary and perfectly fall.
Dot Punch Orange Placemat

With fall comes a cool breeze; layer your furniture with throws to warm up both your décor and yourselves.
