Finally, my Master Bedroom UPDATE !!!
Comments (38)Exactly, although I really appreciate your critique of my bedroom space. DH would not allow me to switch chest of drawers. That's his "side" of the room, bed, bench, lol. Y'all don't know what it took to talk him into curtains! Although, he has been pretty good throughout this decorating process. I did previously try to put the basket under the side table, but it is too tall with the pillows and would be a pain to get under to retrieve them. As for the air return, I cannot block it with anything that large and solid. You should have seen the dust on the solid painted screen. The heating and air guys were not thrilled with that, either. One of these days, I'll see the perfect console table to put there, but in the meantime, that's what I feel comfortable with and it's staying. I can't believe y'all have not seen these decorative screens as just that...decorative! Must be a southern thing. Anyhow, all I wanted to do is show you my newly revamped space because it is such a big improvement over what it was. Thank you for the kind words, tryingtodecorate. The color is Decatur Buff in the bedroom, and my fireplace wall is as well. I have considered painting that entire wall like the trim color, a paneled look like my previous home (seen below) and may do so when we replace the fireplace box (another story.) yayagal - We may sell, so come on!...See MoreMaster Bedroom- Please Help choose bedding & window treatments!
Comments (21)Cobalt blue is a gorgeous color but the walls +the gray headboard + the tan matchstick shades + multiple shades of blue doesnt equal a cohesive sum. Since the wall paint is fresh and pretty and since you like the grey headboard, consider sticking with fewer colors repeated in more elements and then add just one shade of blue as your proverbial pop? The photos that deco added are so pretty partly because they stick closely to plan....See MoreHelp please w/ final touches to temp room makeover

Comments (24)Another idea: what about replacing one of the nightstands for a narrower one to allow the bed to be scooted over to clear the window? Would that leave enough room to walk on that side? If your bed is the standard 76 inches for a King, that leaves you 68 inches on that wall. Right now, you have 34 inches on each side? I don't know how many inches the bed overlaps the window but if it can be centered on the wall (forgetting the window is part of the wall), then art above it would make more "sense". That said, the headboard doesn't leave much room for art above it. I do think the blue needs to be repeated in the room for balance and lamps would be a good spot for it. Love the last lamp italmover shared. Perhaps pillows could introduce a soft colour and texture to complement the blue and white? You can also play with a range of blues. Decorative pillows are very much trial and error but it can be a lot of fun to search for that special touch. I love pinks and purples with blues so would be tempted to introduce a soft purple to the mix: Ochre is a popular colour right now and some love it with blues. Blues and greens are classic. A fabric print that includes your duvet's blue would be "ideal" but it's not always easy to find an exact blue match. Etsy has loads of options though so you're bound to find something you love. The new wall colour looks lovely in the natural light pics. Serene and brighter than the previous. Agree about the yellow from current bulbs (could also be camera's doing. Might be less yellow irl?)...See Moremary44
