Feel free to copy Pinch Me! I showed pix to my friend today, who is my ex-box, who is an architect. He nearly fell off his chair lol. He assured me that it can be cleaned up, and said that it needs to be regrouted, but certainly should be kept by all means. His opinion was just find a solid tile which matches one of those colors to finish off the floor where there is none, and don't worry about it - so big deal it won't be perfect. I agree. It will be part of the character of the room. My BF is all excited to get cracking and try to clean it up now. We're going to just try some liquid Lysol, diluted first (Architect's suggestion), and gently scrub if necessary. We'll see how that goes. As for regrouting, I'll have to have a tile person come in for that, I don't think either of us is equipped for that chore (me for sure - I have two bum knees).

BinsB How GREAT! I'd guess by now the 'kids' are knocking from the outside - yes? Paleese post a pic if you can. We'd all (I'm sure) love to see your accomplishments :-))) after waiting soooo long. Love the orange colors of the nursery but mmm - are they really going to sleep in one crib? :-)) Just kidding. When you have time, which likely won't be for awhile I'm sure, would love to see the nursery with the paper flowers, et al. Not to worry about the non-span house of present. It's the spirit inside that can carry it thru. Imagine what a tough time I have in my location. LOL!! You'll have lotsa fun (when/if you can find the time) doing some special stuff in your new abode. Trop - hmmm pictures this year? LOL! That will be fun to see. I'll look forward (but won't hold my breath too awfully long). :-))) I'm thinking maybe you just eliminated the kitchen altogether and are doing take out now? Houseful it's great to have you posting again. Perhaps you can help us breathe some life back into this thread as I know Bins is going to be rather busy over the next while. :-)) If it weren't for her dedication, I'm sure this thread would no longer exist. I have a few things on my plate but hopefully they will be resolved shortly and I can return to my decorating love. Wow -- I love the tile you linked! What beautiful color and character. You are really lucky to live in a house which lends itself to a Spanish kitchen! That being said -- are you redoing this kitchen for immediate resale? Are you planning on selling within the next few years? If not, I think resale can be a strangling notion. Can you describe more what you're planning for your countertop? What size / shape tiles? Will the countertop be only the bright yellow seen in the photo of the border tile you linked? Or does the border you mention mean a border on the countertop? When you write "subway tile," do you have a specific color in mind? Or do you mean the 3" x 6" white tile? If thatÂs what you mean, then I have some serious reservations  IÂm concerned the plain white tile (and I love a white subway tile, donÂt get me wrong) will just feel totally wrong with the colorful yellow counter top and the mural you have planned. Based on what IÂm seeing in my mindÂs eye I think you could absolutely do a 3" x 6" tile on your backsplash, given that itÂs in a color which makes visual sense with your countertop. I'd also love to see some of the decorative (patterned) tile in your backsplash. I'll poke through the website some more to see if anything jumps out, but undoubtedly others here will have loads of great ideas!
