Comments (23)Newhomebuilder, What a great find. I also love that clock that is worth way more than you paid for it. If I had a bigger home, I would love a clock just like yours. Cliff and Joann, I love the little mouse! threedgrad, I love your bedroom clock and your decorative bed pillows! Prill, I love your kitchen clock! So many unique clocks but I think my post is long enough. Thanks for sharing. I am now thinking of putting a bigger clock in Master Bathroom and putting my cute white clock in the laundry room. But I have to find the perfect bathroom clocks. :) Hoyamom, I LOVE the three clock idea of the time differences. IT is not only practical but decorative! Natesgram, I love your Seth Thomas clock! I have a Seth Thomas clock in my kitchen and it is my favorite clock in my home. Yours is unique, decorative and tells a story. Thanks for sharing. Loribee, I love your entrance way and that clock adds the finishing touch! dmL2000, all of your clocks were so unique that I think I am in love and will no longer care when anyone asks me why I have so many clocks. :) Necia, I love your beautiful clock!...See Moregrandfather clock in master??
Comments (56)Cyn, I think that chest is too deep to put in the foyer. It is actually a dresser, I think I am going to put it back into the bedroom. Les, I think if I replace the splindley table with something heavier looking, it will make that end of the hallway seem even heavier looking imo. I think I am going to keep the two pieces where they were orginally and for now leave the space under the diptych empty for now and see if I can get used to it. olychic, if I put the clock in the hallway as you suggest, I will be the only one that sees the beautiful front of the clock, as those double doors are the doors to the home office. Also I dont care for the look of the clock from the sideview too much, the beauty of it is in the front but thanks for the suggestion....See MoreWhere is your grandfather clock?
Comments (30)Jakabedy, some chimes were not pretty to begin with but most of the older grandfathers had much more beautiful chimes than the newer clocks. Newer clocks have a "brassy" sound (craftsman ship has been gone for a while). If, however, you do not like the chime to the point it bothers you, a good clock man can find working parts from old clocks and replace it or even offer you a newer chime that is less finicky. Placing a clock on a soft floor by a draft can also change the sound of the chime. Remember it is recommended you not even wind your clock without clean white gloves to prevent body oils and sweat from touching the intricate working parts, so putting it by a window means all that is multiplied 100 times and could be the reason your clock does not have that melodic sound. If so, then you probably need new working parts. I have all my clocks serviced each December (around the first of the month so I know they are working at Christmas). My musician son has perfect pitch and cannot stand the sound of my 20th century grandfather clock so we turn it off when he is here, but he loves the sound of the older clocks....See MoreGrandfather clock
Comments (5)Do you want it to be a centerpiece? Do you want it to blend with a room? Does it go in a hall? A living room? An office? Is the house going to have distinct rooms, be open concept, or somewhere in between? What other furniture are you working with? How big will the house be? What colors/materials were you planning on using? There's no reason the clock can't be worked into design plans, but you're going to have to provide a lot more information ... maybe some pictures ......See MoreNora Szczesniak
