Sandra - We have a mantel clock similar to that one, but I like yours better. Ours is more ornate with the little columns, and I like the cleaner look of yours. Some of our others:

This Seth Thomas clock belonged to my G-G-Grandfather and was given to me by my aunt several years ago. It is probably the one item that started my love of genealogy, and I treasure it. Here is a picture of the clock and my GGGF as a young man, as well as a picture of him as an old man sitting on a rocking chair while his family plays croquet in the yard. My great-aunt had written a few words about him and this clock.

"George Foster was a silent man, preoccupied with his own thoughts. Members of his family might meet him on the streets of the town and he passed them by without recognizing them, deep in thought. Each night after supper he walked out to the road and cocked his head toward the sky, first one side then the other, and predicted the weather. Then he came in, took the Jews Harp from inside the old Seth Thomas clock, got into an old chair on the front porch with one foot propped against the column of the porch, then twanged away. George died many years ago but the Jews Harp is still in that old clock."

I do like clocks, but they always seemed so far out of reach prices wise new, and I have no idea what to look for at auction places.

I am obsessing over this one and I think I am going to order it soon for my family room. We need a clock in there and I like the large size.

I guess so! There's a couple missing from this group, too. Will have to get more pics tomorrow!

So mine isn't as grand as the lovely clocks all pictured above, but...it has special meaning to me. I might add that subway clocks seem to be more common now but it wasn't when I purchased mine.

Is it strictly for symmetry that all the roman numeral IV's are written as IIII?

My Valentines gift this year was this Howard Miller Camille clock. I've never had a clock before(that didn't come from Walmart) so I'm pretty excited. A friend of mine found it at an antique mall 1 1/2 hours away and texted me a picture. I made the trip to buy it a few weeks later. Up until a couple of days before I bought her, I didn't know that she was a Howard Miller. I found the same clock on the web selling for $1900. I only paid $400!!!!!

hoyamom - so YOU'RE the one with the 3 clocks in the stairwell!!! Always loved that and now I can give proper credit to the picture. I saved that to my inspiration file a long time ago because it seems we're never going to be in the same time zone with our sons. Haven't instituted the plan yet but since we're only talking Central, Mountain and Pacific times it would kinda lose some of the impact ;-)

I don't think it matters that they are only a time zone away. It's what you like and when you see the time as you walk by you'll always think about your sons.

I purposely designed it with a mouse hole, in hopes that

I lost my first post, where I said I'm inspired by all
the gorgeous clocks posted here...I honestly forgot about
our grandmother clock, I'll try and get a pic later.
here is our first shaker clock. We made a cutting mistake
on this clock so that's why it's so slim. :) It was a good
mistake cause I love the slim look.

I grew up with clocks all around me. My parents also had the big grandfather clock, so I naturally wanted one for my own home, but could not afford one as a newlywed.

One day, as I was browsing the local junk store (Mousey's Trading Post), I came upon a clock for $100. I splurged and took it home.:) It was handmade from a kit by a retired policeman in our town. I liked the looks of it, as it had a more rustic finish than the clocks I grew up with.

That was 28 years ago, and the clock is still ticking, and I love it just as much today. :)

This is my favorite part. I am not sure what the emblem means. Does anyone know?

Newhomebuilder, What a great find. I also love that clock that is worth way more than you paid for it. If I had a bigger home, I would love a clock just like yours.

I am now thinking of putting a bigger clock in Master Bathroom and putting my cute white clock in the laundry room. But I have to find the perfect bathroom clocks. :)
