In the morning, when I wake up. Most of my clocks are electronic-like my computer and satellite TV. I only have to change my kitchen and my car clocks.

Out of all of the clocks (or things that have a clock "within," like the computers) in the house, there are only three that need to be manually reset -- the alarm clock on my bedside table, and the stove and microwave in the kitchen. I always reset the time on the bedside clock before I go to bed, and I take care of the stove and microwave in the morning. Although, I may do all three tomorrow night before I go to bed.

BTW, I DO want to mention that I just now noticed I said "turn the clocks BACK, when they go ahead."

I wanted to clarify that before too many people picked up on it, and blasted me. :-p

jasdip - I thought that what you were asking was.... do we prefer to turn the clocks back, or forward. I would rather set it back. But, as for what you meant........ I spring ahead before going to bed. :)

Shoot...I just finally got my car clock caught up....It'll take me another 4 or 5 months to get it changed again...LOLOL

i MUST set the clock before bed otherwise by morning i have completely forgotten it is not the corrct time on the clock LOL. that happened to me once and i felt like i lost that hour all day LOL! ~ liz

Before I go to bed. Otherwise I'll be late for church. I can't be late this month. I'm in charge of the Fellowship Table (making the coffee and setting out the rolls/donuts)

I never understood this "turning the clock back/forward" stuff. I someone wants to get up earlier or go to bed later then just do it. If a business wants earlier or later hours then............just do it. A lot of businesses have 'summer hours' - restaurants, libraries, the mall. There is nothing gained or lost by switching the clock around it's just always inconvenient.

Oh, they get changed at all different times. My alarm clock will get changed when I go to bed most of the time. If I don't have to be anywhere that Sunday, I am more likely to forget. Setting the alarm makes me remember.

So all the other clocks in the house will get changed when someone thinks about it. Recent years, we are most likely to delegate that job to a bored child sometime Sunday.

I want to move the clocks ahead and leave them that way! I want one time all year, no switching, and I want my daylight in the evening, when we are all home (or doing activities), as opposed to the morning. That's just my vote, if anyone cares. ;o)

We like to change all our clocks early Saturday evening so that we get to bed at a time to still get a full night's sleep. That seems to work out well for us.

I too, would rather not have to mess around with changing.

I heard when I was young that it was started to help out the farmers. If that is so, then it must be for grain farmers because dairy farmers are on the cows schedule.

I prefer to change them before going to bed. Growing up my Dad would change the clocks on Saturday afternoon. He had a collection of chimeing clocks all through the house. Without fail I'd be ready for a date an hour early. He took great joy when that happened. LOL Oh how I miss him. He would have been 91 on the 4th.

When I was working, I preferred to set the clocks before I went to bed to insure that my alarm rang at the proper time the next morning. If I had waited to do it until the next morning, it would have likely been forgotten, and I would have been an hour late because the alarm would have been late.

Oh good. The clock in my car will be right again. Hope I remember that or I'll be late for the next several months.

Other than that I do them in the morning. (Most are downstairs.)

I only change my alarm clock the night before. Then I adjust the rest of the clocks in the morning.

I change my bedroom clock when I go to bed,which is usually after midnight,then change the rest the next morning.

I like to re-set everything the night before.

I wish we could just settle on a time and stick with it! It takes me forever to recover from my lost hour.

I'll change the clocks before I go to bed tonight. I'm too dozey in the mornings to remember. The bedside clock will then be on the correct time when I pry open one sleepy eye in the morning and try to focus on the time of day.

Mine usually get changed within a couple of days.

Alarm clock in the bedroom, wall clock in L R, computer room and kitchen, plus alarm clock and clock radio at bedside ... plus the one in the car ... that usually takes about a week. Plus wrist watch.

Some older radios don't matter, cause they haven't kept the right time for some time, anyway - there's some wasted power for you! I wonder how I could disconnect that portion of the mechanism? Don't ask me to throw the functioning radio out, O.K.?

Make sure that you use your hours efficiently - when one gets to be eighty, one doesn't know how many there may be left!

Actually - that's true, at any age.

Well, my kitchen clock will be OK since I didn't set it back last fall....I always just use the microwave time,I guess. But I set the others the night before.

Well the good news is the clock in my truck will now be correct. I never did change that one, lol. I hate this particular time change as I am so not a morning person. I will be changing my clocks before I go to bed. It just seems easier that way. Not to mention the fact that both DH and DS have to work Sunday morning. I feel bad for DS since he has to be up at 5am, will feel like 4 to him!

We change ours before bed. I don't change my car clock, so once again it will show the correct time. How I wish we could just "stay" on the daylight savings time.

I change ours before going to bed. One of my former co-worker's mother used to get up at 2am to set hers. :)

In the olden days when this whole idea started, a typical home would have just one clock. There was none of this clocks in every room, alarm clocks, clocks set to time the oven, microwave, VCR, and clock on computer, phones, and in autos, usually requiring a reread of the owners manual to do so.

I wish this DLST idea would go away. We have electric lights now and so not have to rely on sunlight to get tasks done.

Another one who doesn't like this time change idea. I will reset most of my clocks tonight before I go to bed.

Since the date was bumped forward by a few weeks, just a year or so ago, how does the computer know it'll change tonite? Wouldn't that have to be programmed into it??

I went around changing them all this afternoon as I have so many to do.

There is just the DVD and computer which should do automatically.

Now, I just have to remember I changed them an hour earlier and not freak out how late it is. LOL

First, on topic, I changed my watch and my vehicle at about 9am this morning. I changed the kitchen clock then too. I'll change most of them tonight and I have a lot of clocks so I'll forget some of them most likely so they'll get done as I think of them, like the clock on the stove, the answering machine and whichever other(s) I forget.

Personally I'd prefer they go to year-round DST and do a slight adjustment on things like school time and certain businesses. I don't like the time change, but I'm a pragmatic person. DST saves energy. DST saves lives. DST helps prevent traffic injuries. DST helps prevent crime. And it also saves money for essentially everyone in the way of energy costs, insurance rates, and more. We put up with far more inconvenience for far less benefit in other ways. But DST gives us a great topic for complaining!

DST was never started by farmers. On the contrary, Farming states opposed it most vehemently. DST was started to save energy. It's not a new idea. Benjamin Franklin suggested DST as a way to save money, though it's debated whether he was the first to come up with the idea.

Someday I'll have all atomic clocks and won't have to change any anymore. :)

We used to set ours before going to bed, but now working opposite shifts I will set them sometime tonight while I am trying to be quiet so everyone else can sleep (I usually get 1 night off at a time so stay on schedule).

As to not liking the time change, I am not a fan of it either, there are some states that don't change. We could all write or call our congress people to ask them to change it. If enough of them started getting enough requests they might say "hey you know..."
