Can I add a sink drain to a toilet vent?

I have an unfinished laundry room directly under my main bathroom. I want to add a toilet and sink to the room before I finish it. There is already plumbing set up for the toilet that is connected to the main sewer drain. My question is could I somehow convert that vent into a drain for the sink and add a new vent onto that? Thanks.

Yes, I know codes vary by state, but, there is a general rule of thumb or predominant code specification that is used in multiple jurisdictions, that is what I want to know. And as originally asked, if it is a 3" drain, what is the code? If it is a 4" drain, what is the code? it's like pulling teeth around here sometime.

My question is where to put the 2" vent pipe, The is a trick question, the answer is: You cannot use a 2" vent, it requires a 3" vent.

Another thought... Will this turn the section of 2-inch pipe below the new drain into a wet vent for the toilet and lav? If so, I may have to reconsider.
