Jetta deep soaking tub questions

Peke

Before I order my tub, I wanted to make sure I know enough about it.

The tub/shower combo will have two tiled walls, and a pony wall on the end with a glass on top. I don't know much about pony walls...the tile flange is 1"*tall. The tub doesn't have much of a rim, so no place to put shampoo, etc. I think it will look less cluttered, so I am good with that. However, I need to put shelves somewhere in the tiles.

1. Will this tub work with a pony wall?

2. Two tubs. One has spray foam on the underside of it. They claim that the water will stay within 2° of original temperature for 30 minutes without a heater. $240 difference between the two tubs. The insulation looks just like the spray can foam you can buy at Lowe's. I can't see how the water would stay hot without a heater. I am not sure it it is worth the extra money.

3. Which waste and overflow should I choose? Both work for the tub. Why would I choose one over the other?

Thanks for any advice.
