I'd move the shelf things elsewhere, and do a large piece of art above the sofa. (hang it 5" above the back)

I know you didn't ask about the color and the lighting, but I would like to make suggestions, if I could. I would love to see a lot more of the blue from the curtain. You can pick up that color in accessories, such as lamp bases, wall art, and throws. About the lighting, ceiling lights don't do anyone any favors. Much better for great atmosphere is a table lamp or wall sconce in each corner at chest height.

That’s not Dead Space. It’s Resting Space. The eye doesn’t need to see things in every place. Your fireplace/mantel/television is plenty for that corner.

I would simply put a floor plant on one side of the fireplace and remove everything else including the wall art. Let the mantle shine.

The reason why the space looks off is that the sign is too small. Remove it and the space will look fine.

I'd also like to suggest a hefty floor lamp for the space in between your seating. Your current decor item is too small and it looks like you need some floor level lighting in the room.

I would remove all the small things on the mantel and hearth and the small sign. I think you need a little space to breathe. Maybe figure out how to hide the cords and also move the roomba if possible. I would not do the vase with reeds thing. It looks like you need some lamps so how about an end table between the couches with a nice tall lamp.

Less is more sometimes when accessorizing and think about room in its entirety. Consider how room can feel more coordinated and impactful and less busy. I hope the following suggestions help.

Fireplace: reduce and adjust for impact

- remove all items from mantle

- remove small framed piece and replace with two of the frames from over couch adding one above the other

- on floor underneath add a basket with a throw

Sitting area: rug, pillows and drapes are not complimenting each other

- remove small item next to drapes and add the larger framed piece from over couch and don‘t hang as high as piece you removed

- add art above couch, which will really pull the room together

- compliment/coordinate with a throw and cushions for a more cohesive look

- Add a lamp in corner for balance

I would accent with some of the similar blue that is in the curtains, they need to be tied in-either in art or pillows.

Fans and roombas are not decor and that is not dead space. Better to address the end tables than add more stuff to FP. The corner end table should be the height of the arms of the sofas so they can be useful.

I would not put anything on sides of FP. It would look crowded and squished.
