Looking for a 30" Professional Free Standing Gas Range

I am currently looking for a 30" professional free standing gas range in the $4k range.

Following are the models I've looked at but am open to suggestions/recommendations for other models / brands.

BlueStar Sealed Burners Model #RCS30SBV2. Also considering the open burner model. Both models have two oven racks. I have two oven racks with my current range and really wanted three.
KitchenAir Professional Gas Range Model #KFGC500JSS. This is a new product so not many reviews out there. Overall rating on their website is 3.4 but that is with only five reviews. It has three oven racks. It has two 20,000 BTU dual flame burners. Since this is a new product, I would like to see more reviews before seriously considering this model.
Jenn-Air Professional Gas Range Model #RISE JGRP430HL All of their burners are dual stacked and there are three oven racks.
Jenn-Air Professional Gas Range Model #NOIR JGRP430HM. All of their burners are dual stacked and there are three oven racks. I saw this model recently in an appliance store and it is very nice but more expensive than the BlueStar and KitchenAid.

Thanks in advance for any advice. The people are this forum are very helpful and I've learned a lot.

Is it really a pro one you want ? Why? You do realize a pro range does not have a self cleaning oven right? I have never in all my years in commercial kitchens ever had more than 2 racks in an oven. I guess if you are going convection oven then maybe 3 racks . I have 3 racks in my wall ovens because they are convection The reason I am asking is a lot of people want the pro look not really a commercial range.

What is your ventilation plan for this? The choice of a range cannot be separated from the complete cooking and ventilation system.

Another possibility for you: the Amana AGR5735. I was happy enough with the one we found in our rental that we bought one for our new house. People will tell you that Amana is not at the top of Consumer Report's reliability list but then the high-end stuff people like here is quite a bit less reliable than Amana. I've had no problems with the two we've had over five years or so. It has a 16K BTU/hr burner (14K after conversion to propane, which is what we use), good heavy-duty, continuous cast iron grates (better than on the Maytag version, I think), simmer settings adjustable to very low via screws under the control knobs, the largest oven I've ever seen in a 30" range. Well within your budget, should be available for $700 or so, the AGR5835 adds convection for about $800. Despite what Trixie said, I don't thing you'd find anything in your price range that couldn't be converted to propane. Most (for sure the Amana) are even shipped with the conversion kit included. But there's no harm in checking to be sure. Trixie's advice about performance is good. The derating is typically 10% or so but some (some GE models in particular) suffer much bigger losses for some reason.

We just had a Whirlpool glass top range put in last week -tomorrow it would be one week. I was cooking chicken noodle soup on it tonight, took the lid off to stir the soup and set it on the cooktop (I only had one burner going). When I went to pick the lid up (about 30 sec later) it was stuck/suctioned to the cooktop. I left it b/c I didn't want to scratch it. About 2 min later the whole cooktop shattered. The place under the lid was in a million pieces. The rest of it had cracks. We had a glass cooktop prior to this but it had 4 quadrants -this one is one solid piece of glass. I think the 4 quadrants help temper the heat better. Have to call Whirlpool tomorrow and see what they're going to do about it.

American Range Performer Series ARROB430L is $2,999 with free shipping at link below. Most places it is $3299. It is a high performance liquid propane open burner model. There are plenty of threads discussing open vs sealed burners and discussing AR Performer Series. In summary,this is the highest performing 30" LP range for under $3k. Vulcan and Garland are professional range manufacturers. The ones you mentioned make "pro-style" ranges. However, _bona fide_ pro ranges are not at home in residential settings, so you'd no doubt do better sticking with your list. I have a rather pedestrian GE Monogram dual-fuel pro-style range for 3 1/2 years, and I'm happy with it. I had one service call for a balky ignitor. Casey

ProSource Memphis, I do plan on getting a new ventilation system to replace an older OTR microwave which doesn't do a good job of removing cooking odors.

I am researching that also but like the Zephyr Typhoon 30" Stainless Steel Quiet Under-Cabinet Range Wall Hood AK2100BS (800 CFM). I would have to get makeup air for that.

Patricia Colwell Consulting, I don't really need a self cleaning oven. I currently have a self cleaning oven but don't use the self cleaning feature much, instead just wiping up spills. Maybe all I do need is the pro look. What do you suggest?
